Daytona Beach vs. The Boy

We went to Daytona Beach while we were in Florida, just a day trip. Cody had been swimming and in the sun for a few days by then and had gotten a bit of a sunburn. A sunburn even though he had been slathered with sunscreen. Ah well, we are fair skinned people and even our best efforts for sun protection fail.

We watch Animal Planet and many more nature shows. Cody was giving a lecture on the dangers of swimming in the ocean all the way to Daytona. He was NOT going in for fear of sharks and jellyfish and advised us not to venture into the water. Sometimes I think these shows are a detriment. *wink*

Anyway, the saltwater irritated the sunburned skin and he was certain that a jellyfish had stung him and he was going to die. He insisted that we take him to the nearest hospital for anti-venom. LOL He sat in the back of the Jeep for about 30 minutes until I lured him onto the beach to collect seashells and to see how fast he could run on sand. Ah, the tricks we play!

Once he got back out on the beach, he was easily coaxed back into the water. He chased seagulls and jumped waves for hours. He had a blast and didn't want to leave.
