Snowman Wishes

I used the Penny Black snowman as well as more paper from the MM pack I picked up from Target on Saturday. Love this paper.

I used sketch 39 from AmyR for this one. My image panel is way larger than her sketch, but I think it works. The stickles were still wet when I photographed it. It's super sparkly now.

I am trying to use my light box when photographing, but I'm not sure they are any better. Maybe have to change my set up and move the lights a little further away.

Our magazines came in at work yesterday and I got to see my name in them. It's totally lame, but it made me smile. Anessa, some are on their way to you! I couldn't wait to get home and show them to Duke. He let me revel in my glory for a few minutes...then it was time to cook dinner. LOL

My dad is home and on lots of pain meds, but he says (slurs) that they are not working. I think he mentioned a morphine patch and demerol, so I am pretty sure he is mistaken! LOL Anyway, thanks to all of you for your well wishes for him. I'm hoping he's feeling a little better by the end of the week. Gotta check on him later today.

Snowflakes SFYTT

I found this MM paper at Target on Saturday and immediately fell in love with it. This particular sheet is a very close match to SU! Sage Shadow; but every sheet is lovely.

This card uses Jen's SFYTT from Saturday. I used a snowflake stamp of unknown origin for the main images, the snowflake in the accent panel is from Verve Stamps Winter Wonder. The sentiment is from PTI Mixed Messages. I used some rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes in the main image panels, they add just a touch of sparkle.
I haven't been feeling much better, but I went to work so that I could finish up some busy work to get ready for our mail out. I am hoping to get it out within this week.

Let It Snow

I used Mailbox Greetings from Paper Trey Ink and Winter Wishes from Verve Stamps; this card uses mytimess07 sketch from Lauren. I used Aqua Mist and Blue Bayou inks for the snowflakes and Aqua Mist ribbon. The tag is a Cuttlebug die, it's adhered with silver stretch cording. And, you know I used copics, nesties, and stickles. I am really liking this one.

Found Cody 5 pairs of jeans in my shopping excursion yesterday. I was going to head to Mike's and HL, but there was a home game, so I decided against heading into downtown for anything. Better for my pocketbook too.

My dad was scheduled to be released from the hospital yesterday. I'll be calling later today to ensure that he was and make a quick visit. When I called yesterday afternoon, he was in a lot of pain and waiting for the doctor to tell him he could go home.

Birds of a Feather

Just a quick post today. I went home early from work yesterday feeling feverish with aches and pains. Just puny! Hope I feel better after some rest, I HAVE to go shopping for Cody.

Super simple card, images from C.C. Designs Olivia's Birdies and PTI Birds of a Feather.

Life Songs

This card uses AmyR's sketch from last Friday, just got it in on time. I used PTI Birds of a Feather and Basic Grey Boxer dp.

I am planning a weekend of jeans shopping for the boy; I could only find two pair in my last shoppng quest. Well, our mornings have been really cool with the temps in the 70's later; it's just too cold for shorts in the AM. Hopefully, I will be able to find several in his size.

Cody also had to go to the doctor yesterday from immunizations as well as a general well child check up. Duke took him since he had the day off. Cody was so brave and took two shots and his blood work with no tears. I am so proud of him because this has never happened before. It kills me sometimes that he is growing up, but times like this make me happy about it. So, great check up and we were informed we have a healthy child who is normal for his age.

Heart to Heart

I made this card to pass onto the lady that took care of Duke's mom before she passed on. You may or may not know that Duke's mom passed away April 2007 due to complications from Alzheimer's. I never got the chance to know her as the disease had already progressed when he and I met. On a lighter note, later when she was unable to form words or sentences, we always knew she was happy when she yodeled. We really miss her!

I'll be making others for the staff at the VA hospital where my grandfather is; he also suffers from this horrible disease. I have to say that seeing someone suffer from this disease is heartbreaking; their memories, even the precious ones, are stripped from them.

The uber talented Carolyn King is offering blog candy in excess of $1000.00, you can click here to see more about it as well as how you can help. Thanks Cammie for your generosity and for bringing this out in the open to allow others to get involved.
My card uses the Mojo Monday50 sketch. I am too far behind using her fab sketches.

My dad pulled through his back surgery well yesterday. They found another issue and fixed it while they had him there. I am hoping this helps him and he doesn't have to suffer in pain any longer. He's had several back surgery and surgery in general stemming from an injury he received many years ago.

My sister brought Cody lots of cool goodies from Ober Gatlinburg where she works. He was just thrilled and he showed them off all evening. He has the zipper pulls on his backpack already.
There is awesome blog candy here as well. Awesome stamper, check her out.

One Happy Snowman

This card uses Lauren's Saturday Sketch as well as Allison's Suggestive Sunday challenge "snowman". I just love this image, he looks so happy!

Lots of stuff accomplished yesterday at work; some stuff I didn't have on schedule until next week is done. I am hoping to get the mail out done early and then just wait for the stuff to come in. Lots more clean up in the database will have to happen this week anyway, so the more I can get out of the way, the better.

I went to my LSS yesterday to get a little something for the Birthday Club that I belong to. The LSS has always left much to be desired in the way of new products and such. Well, they must have caught up with the times, they have copics and the refills (limited colors), and lots of new punches from EK Success. I wasn't able to spend too much time in there, but it looks like I might have a decent place to shop that's close to work.

Winter Wishes

This is a sketch from Jen's SFYTT from this weekend, she really does have some great ones. I always love it when I have an image in mind when I see the sketch. Of course, she always provides fabulous samples to inspire.

I'm still trying to get some Christmas cards done and so far have about a dozen. Duke will be getting laid off for the winter starting November 1st, so that knocks about 20 off my list. Hoping my connections at work will land him a job.

I used non-traditional colors (to say the least, right?!), and Curious Ice Gold Metallic paper. I just love that paper with the Snowflakes embossing folder, the design really stands out. I used Crystal stickles on the snow, sparkly and a hint of pink.

Love, Love, Love & A Tag

This is another image I received from Nicola; the setiment is PTI Mixed Messages.

Well, it's another Monday and the start of another busy week. I hope to get the last of my time consuming tasks done before our mailout next Monday. Making sure the database is in order is somewhat challenging since so many people are able to add to it at any given time. Job security is a word I hear almost every day. LOL

In other news, Lynn tagged me:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here goes:

1. I never wanted to have kids up until I was about 27 years old; too worried I'd be a horrible parent. The jury is still out on that one.

2. I am almost always cold. Doesn't matter the temps outside, I'm on the couch wrapped up in a warm blankie.

3. I love to shop (I know, big suprise, right?!); can go for hours. I always run out of money before I run out of places to spend it.

4. I am scared to death of bugs, all of them. Go figure, I have a boy that LOVES them and wants to bring his finds into the house. Uh, no.

5. I am left handed, the only one in my entire family.

6. I have an addiction to pens. I buy some almost every time I go to the store.

7. I am not an outdoorsy girl; I wanna be, but I'm not. Give me a full service spa over the woods anyday!

Ok, so that concludes your entrance into my world. I know, I'm pretty boring.

It's your turn girls; I'm calling you out, but only if you want to play!
Have fun!

Deck the Halls

My friend, Charith, RAK'd me with some stamped images. I immediately wanted to color Fluffles and make a card. He is colored with copics, I used Diamond Glaze on the ornaments for some shine. Sorry the picture is so dark.

Well, my brother's son and his friend were both injured in ATV accidents last night. The friend had to be taken to the hospital to treat a broken shoulder. My mother's ATV is totalled as a result, my brother's ATV has a warped rim and destroyed tire. Needless to say, no more riding on the ATVs with no adult supervision. The boys have already made payment arrangements with the owners of the ATVs and it seems that it'll all work out in the end. It's a shame that any of it even happened and of course, the injuries weren't life threatening.
I may be heading down there in a few hours to get pictures of my brother's family as well as all of us as a group. Should be interesting.

The Outside of a Stationery Box

ETA: the link to the items I have for sale on Ebay is here. I am selling them cheap, cheap, cheap. Hope you have time to check it out.

Just a quick something. I haven't finished the inside of this stationery box, but here is the outside. Sorry for the horrid photo, no time to edit.

My brother and his family came into town unexpectedly and I spent a good part of the evening with them. We have a family reunion for Duke's family later today and then more visiting with my brother since they are leaving sometime on Sunday. So, I may not have a post for Sunday.
Can you tell I love the BG Boxer papers?
Oh, and I have listed some stamp sets and nesties on Ebay. More to list tomorrow before the reunion I hope. Check it out if you wish!

For You Tilda

I received this image from Nicola; the other images are from CTMH From You to Me set. The dp is Basic Grey Boxer and it is so bold and pretty. I used colors found in the paper for my image which is colored with copics. You can see where I highlighted the image with a white gel pen.

Big day tomorrow at work; still getting stuff together for another HUGE project. Hoping there is enough time to get everything done so that I can prepare for Monday. Every Monday, we have a Sales Meeting and I have a bazillion reports to get ready for them to review. Whew, I'm tired just typing it out.

Our gas prices are down almost to where they were before the price gouging. Our governor put his foot down and it looks as though the culprits listened. Thank heavens for small miracles.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Mini Magazine Holder

I got the idea for this from Jenn D some time back. The directions are here. It was easy and fun, I'm thinking that these will be good Christmas gifts for the gals at my office.

I used dp from Amy Butler for K&Co., lovely papers in the pad. It's double sided too. Then the ribbon around the box is PTI Aqua Mist, it's not an exact match, but it's the closest that I have.
I may embellish the card fronts, they look a bit plain. But, I like plain sometimes. I made eight cards since I have not included the envies in the set.
Our magazines should be back from the printer by the end of the month. I found out that my name was included in all four publications! How exciting for my name to be in print and associated with this great magazine for the area tourism market. I can hardly wait to see them in person. This was my first time being involved in such a lengthy process from start to finish, just exciting for me.

A Tree For You

I used a sketch from 2 Sketches for You, a sketch blog that Jenn D pointed me to. I am glad to finally be participating in the fun.

I used PTI Father Knows Best with Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and some teal textured cardstock. You can also see the Basic Grey dp, love this particular sheet from the Blush collection.

Fall Blessings

This uses Lauren's sketch for Saturday; another tough one. I used PTI Out on a Limb with the additions. I highlighted the More Mustard with Ruby Red to create the two tone leaves. I strayed from the sketch a bit, but I think it worked out in the end.

Monday, September 15, 2008

Huggybellas OCCC

I used the sketch from OCC for this week and thought I would continue using the Bellas. The cardstock is Night of Navy, Whisper White, Basic Gray, and going Gray; dp from Basic Grey Boxer.
I used a white gel pen to highlight the flowers on the dress and a silver AtYou Spica Glitter pen for the shirt. Super sparkly.
The dog kept me up most of the night Saturday night. She can be quite the menace; so sneaky. I tried to catch up on my sleep on Sunday, but my aunt called at 7:30 AM to let me know she was thinking about me and the day went from there. I tried napping, but the boy wasn't having it.
Good news, I found my Basic Grey Magnetic Snaps. The things were hiding in one of my paper drawers, not sure how they got here, but so glad I found them! Thought I would have to buy more. Phew!

Sorry the photo is so wonky! I'll take another before uploading to SCS.

This is my take on Jen's SFYTT for Saturday; I used the sketch as well as a Bella just as instructed to do. She's not necessarily a holiday Bella, but she is a season Bella.
All paper is from Paper Trey except for the Bella. This is another that I shamelessly begged for and received from Lynn. Thanks again Lynn, I am loving using them! The ribbon is from Paper Trey, the flowers are Primas, and the brads are Making Memories. Not sure if you can see all the glitter, but she is packed with it.
Well, the gas prices here are over $6.00 a gallon; unreal! Don't know if I can afford to go to work at those prices! Holy cow!!

Blog Candy Winner

The winner of the blog candy is Cindy Haffner! Cindy, please email me your mailing address and I'll get these goodies in the mail to you. Thanks to all that participated!

This is another of the Bellas I received from Lynn. I used another sketch from Heather. All papers from Paper Trey Ink, except the image and sentiment which I believe is Whisper White from SU! I used Diamond Glaze and glitter for the bubbles and water puddle.
Gotta go to my parents for a birthday celebration for my mom. We won't be staying long, you never know how these things are gonna go.

Holiday Wishes

Ok, you twisted my arm! I have another Christmas card using PTI Mailbox Greetings. This also uses a sketch from here. The polka dots are a CHF backgrounder and the snowflake is a stamp that I got some time ago with no markings, so I am not sure of the manufacturer. Sentiment from Verve. I'm glad to be getting some of these out of the way.

I'll be announcing the winner of the blog candy on Saturday morning. Sure wish I could send everyone something!

You Rock

This is one of the images and sentiments I received from Lynn. I used a sketch from Heather as well. Sorry the photo is so bad, I was in too big a hurry.

I used JudiKins Diamond Glaze on the guitar for some shine and authenticity.

ETA: Forgot to link up the blog candy.

Have a Birdie-ful day

You must be getting sick and tired of the same image for Christmas cards, so I have this one for you today.

I found this sketch on a blog I just discovered. She does awesome work and posts sketches as well. Tons of great ones, I can hardly wait to get through them.

Ok, so I used Olivia's Birdies from C.C Designs; what a great set. I am glad that I finally had a chance to use it.

Don't forget about the blog candy here.

Warm Winter Wishes

I used MFTSC46 sketch for this card. I again used Basic Grey Boxer paper as well as SU! Real Red, Soft Sky, and Wild Wasabi and Curious Metallic Ice Gold. he image is from PTI Mailbox Greetings. Not sure if you can see the stickles under the ribbon.

Don't forget about the blog candy here.

A Christmas SFYTT

I used Jen's SFYTT for this week, love the sketch. I am trying to get some Christmas cards done and pulled out my Verve Winter Wonder set; I used SU! Blue Bayou and Soft Sky cardstock and inks. I threw in some Basic Grey Boxer paper and again used the snowflake embossing folder on the SU! Wild Wasabi cardstock. The white is Curious Metallic in Ice Gold, lots of shimmer and sparkle. And, for a little punch of color, I added the red brads to the top corners and to the sentiment panel.

Had a great weekend. Got the shopping done, which was no small feat since they are "remodeling" our store. Not sure it's a remodel as much as a tactic. I also had to get my Jeep worked on; it needed a new water pump. So, with new hoses and belts, I should be good to go for the winter.

Should be a BUSY week at work, the layouts for the books have to be done by the end of the week so all the proofs are due by Wednesday. It's a little hectic, but it makes for some good fun!!! LOL

Don't forget about the blog candy here.

Christmas Penguin and a Blogger RAK

I shamelessly begged Lynn for some Bella images and look at the amount of stamped images she sent me. She was way too generous, but I will enjoy using them! AND, she sent that adorable stamp set. Thanks Lynn!
I used Lauren's mytimess04 for this card. This one was a bit easier for me and now I have one more Christmas card done! I just love this Cuttlebug folder, perfect for the winter holidays.

I added a gadget to the sidebar. It's a follower gadget, you can sign up to be a follower of my blog. Now, don't you all rush at one time to do it...LOL!
See this post for blog candy!

From Me To You

I got this set when Anna offered it on her blog as a way to help Operation Smile through CTMH. I just fell in love with the giant daisy and knew I had to own it!

The dp is from K & Co. Berry Sweet. I also used the CTMH inks that came with the set to ink around the edges. I think it adds a bit of a vintage feel to the card and really sets off the image. I used subdued yellows for the daisy itself.

This card also uses AmyR's sketch 19, easy peasy.

Don't forget about the blog candy in the post below.

Friday, September 5, 2008

Ok, So Here's The Blog Candy

I used one of the Verve Anniversary sketches for this card. The image is from PTI Father Knows Best.

Now, for the goodies. I have a 6x6 Making Memories paper pad, a Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder, and lots of American Crafts embellies up for grabs. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, that's it! Cody will draw the winning name on Friday, September 12th. I will announce the winner on Saturday. Only one comment per person please.

Sweet Monkey Love and a Little Something Cody Stamped

I love this image, it's too sweet. It is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Stamper's Select cardstock and then colored with copics. Super simple layout.

I sent a card off to my Auntie and brother for their birthdays for this month. My aunt and mother share the same birthday and my brother celebrates his the day before. Thankfully, Duke's family doesn't have any in September that I am aware of.

I'll be posting blog candy on Friday, so stay tuned.

Cody stamped this the day that I got Wise Owl out of the package, he just fell in love with them. I think he did a great job.

A Tilda wth Cookies

Nicola sent this image to me, I don't know which Tilda this is, but she's awful cute. I colored her with copics, highlighted parts of the image with a white gel pen and matted her on SU! Barely Banana and PTI Plum Pudding. The dp and both ribbons are from PTI as well. The sentiment and image are from MFT.

I'll be posting blog candy tomorrow; I have surpassed the 7500 hits and am darn close to 7800 at this point. I still have to decide what the goodies will be.
Hoping I can get close to my craft table this week. I spent so much time cleaning that my fun time was limited to just a few cards.
The satellite internet installer didn't leave until after 11:00 p.m. last night. Man, I am pooped since that is wayyyy past my bedtime. Of course, I occupied my time with the Republican National Convention.

Holiday Greetings

This card uses a Mojo Monday sketch from wayyyy back. I used PTI Mailbox Greetings for the main image as well as the sentiment. I am trying to get a few Christmas cards done since it won't be long before the big day is here. Of course, with as many layers as this one has, I will have to pay the extra postage. I am trying to find a design for this image while only using minimal layers so I don't have to pay the extra postage. Many of ours can be hand delivered, so I am happy about that. I think this leaves me with about 70 more to make; I'm a bit overwhelmed, but every little bit helps. Shoulda followed Jenn D's lead and make a dozen a month.

Ok, so I used SU! Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Old Olive and Bashful Blue; the dp is Making Memories; the scallops and plain rectangles and circles were cut using Nestabilities. The image was stamped onto PTI Stampers Select White with Memento ink; then colored with copics. I used the snowflake embossing folder from Cuttlebug on the Bashful Blue layer. The ribbon is from PTI. I used the Mat Pack from SU! to help me place the red brads and pierce under the sentiment; and then used a white gel pen to highlight the mailboxes as well as each scallop in both shapes. Oh, and I used Icicle Stickles on the pile of snow. The image and sentiment panels are each adhered with foam squares.
I know these aren't your normal Christmas colors, but I rather like that. You can tell it's a holiday card, right?
In my cleaning yesterday, I found our bathroom closet with mold. I bleached it out for the entire day yesterday and hope that helps. It wasn't horrible, looks like it had just started. So, we'll be keeping an eye on it.

Who Me?

I used a sketch from Amy R for this card. I also used PTI Wise Owl and their dark chocolate dp. I squeezed on some JudiKins Diamond Glaze for the smallish owls eyes, super cool effect. You can also see piercing along the top and bottom of the card.

Well, Cody and I spent the better part of yesterday cleaning one side of the house. The boy did a FAB job dusting everything in sight as well as putting his games, toys, crayons, etc. in their proper home. FINALLY! He always leaves little bits EVERYWHERE and it drives me nuts. And, the best part was that I didn't ask him to help me, he just started pitching in. It was quite nice. I think *crossing fingers* that I may have gotten through to him and he'll leave his slobby ways behind. Fat chance of that happening, but a mom can dream, can't she?!

I purged a bunch o' junk in my cleaning frenzy as well. Old papers and stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for some time. Feels good for thngs to be clean and orderly; even though this is what I do every weekend. Just not as deep a clean as now.

I started cleaning the other side of the house when Duke left for work. It is hard to clean while he's asleep. I am hoping to clean my Jeep as well, but I don't think I'll make it outside.

Hope you all are having a great Labor Day; I'll be catching up with blogs on Tuesday...promise. It's hard to visit everyone on the weekend with the dial-up...but on Tuesday afternoon, we're supposed to have the satellite internet installed and working. We shall see! I am excited as all get out about not having to move at a snail's pace. I can also get all my cards and such uploaded so they are all in one place. Yippee!
