Hang In There

Isn't this monkey adorable? Love him. The dp inspired the card; can you tell the panel that I stamped to match? I used PTI Out on a Limb and Beautiful Bouquet, then sponged the edges. I was pretty proud of myself for how closely it matched.

Anyway, the card is pretty self explanatory.

Cody's Fall Festival was lots of fun for him, of course, he turned into a whiny baby once we got home and he had to do some homework. It wasn't pretty.

Hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween! Don't overdose on the sugar!!

News, Stamps, and a Gift Set

You can go here to see some fantastic news, yeah for me! I'm pretty excited about being on this sketch team and have a great sketch to work with already.

Click here to view the stamps sets that I have available.
I used Olivia's Birdies for each piece. I always like her in pinks, so this came together pretty quickly once I had all the parts gathered up and images colored. I'm thinking this is going to my high school BFF, she likes pink alot. She might be able to use this in her office.
The frame was found at Wal-Mart. It's 4x6 and three panels making it perfect for some stamped images. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.
I used the candle stamping tutorial on SCS for the candle, being very careful while coloring the images. It was lots of fun and I'm hoping to make a few more of these for gifts. The best part is that the candle smells like roses...mmmmm.
I am truly ready for the weekend, aren't you?!

Here are the stamps I still have for sale.

I used a sketch from Amy R as well as her stamps for this one. They're all super cute and so fun to use. All paper and ribbon is from Paper Trey Ink. The marker colors match much more closely IRL, don't know what happened in PSE.
Well, we had snow in Gatlinburg today and the mountain is covered. Thank heavens we didn't get any, but this is the earliest I think I've ever seen it happen since I've lived in Tennessee. I'm thinking we might have a cold winter this year, certainly not looking forward to it.
I have volunteered for one hour at Cody's Fall Carnival at school on Friday night; then going across the street to a "trunk & treat" event. Should be loads of fun!

Retail Therapy

I made this card for Lauren's Staurday Sketch for this week. I used some stamps I won on AmyR's blog, and let me tell ya, I love 'em. Such fun images, easy to color or paper piece. You saw this paper in yesterday's post, it's from American Crafts and has such great colors in it. Most of the colors match PTI cardstock.

Here are some stamp sets I still have available. Hopefully I can get them all sold this week.

Rockabella Rocks! and Some Stamps for Sale

I got this image from Lynn, thanks again Lynn. She's colored with copics and then matted on PTI Ripe new favorite color. It's so pretty and rich. Anyway, the dp is American Crafts; the remainder of the cardstock is all PTI- Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist. I added Diamond Glaze to the guitar after the photo was taken.

I was going in a different direction with this card, and then just turned it upside down. I hope it works.

Cody's new meds have his cough nearly gone. Thanks for the prayers and happy thoughts, I really do appreciate them. Looks like we've nearly got him back on the right path. Let's just hope he stays this way.

I'm selling some of my under used stamp sets, I have them listed below. I'll ship to the US and Canada, the cheapest way possible or priority- your choice. Just email me at tinahale38 at to claim your set(s) and to get my paypal address:

Home of Dreams

A few months ago I won my choice of a set of stamps from Paper Trey Ink, I chose Boards and Beams. I loved this set the moment I saw it.

I used my Martha Stewart punch as well as some primas. I drew my colors from the American Crafts dp.

Penguin Trio

I used AmyRS42 for this card. The stamps are Little Penguins from CC Designs, colored with copics. The sentiment is from PTI Believe. These penguins are some of my favorite images; I've also colored them as ducks. I did some simple masking of the images to stack them.

Three Trees

I found this inexpensive little frame at Wal-Mart; stamped the tree from PTI Believe and voila!, a cute little handmade Christmas decoration. The ribbon is from Offray.

The doctor wants to try more allergy meds on Cody in the hopes that they'll clear up his cough. He says the breathing treatments are working and we are to continue with them. Hoping that next week brings better results.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Just a Mouse Click

I used Clickabella and her matching sentiment from Stamping Bella. Simple, basic layout with lots of vibrant colors. I just love the BG dp, Blush Collection.
Cody has another appointment with the doctor today, hoping it is well enough that we don't have to go back in a few days. His cough has improved, but not alot. They may change the meds for the nebulizer, I suppose.
Here are a few more things I have listed on Ebay; if you haven't taken a look, please do. I have two Gina K sets posted.

Cute Little Marshmallow Reindeer

Another card from the crop at SNR. Glad to have gotten so many Christmas cards done during the two days of fun for World Cardmaking Day.

Here are a few more things I have listed on Ebay; it feels really nice to be purging some unused things. Just hoping they are finding home with folks that are showing them some love. Take a look and take them off my hands.

Cody is starting to take his meds correctly and starting to sound a little better. Not a lot better, but better. He was glad to be able to go to school yesterday and said that his friends swarmed him and gave him great big hugs.

Peppermint Marshmallow Santa

Another card made for the crop at SNR, another Christmas card bites the dust. LOL I used a Jen's SFYTT from way back. I am still loving this paper from Making Memories.

Cody is now on a nebulizer with treatments every 6 hours. We were given the green light to do every four hours if necessary. He still sounds like death and I just want him to get better. Hopefully, this will do the trick and I am thankfully that he's not worse. Thanks to all of you for your thought and concern.

Oh Christmas Tree

I used Jen's SFYTT for this past Saturday. Love her sketches, always get you thinking. The tree is from PTI Believe and colored with copic markers. I highlighted the berries with a Sakura clear gel pen. I added piercing and embossing details to the main panels.

Well, I have to get Cody's Halloween costume from Wal-Mart today, he's going to be Black Suited Spiderman. He just loves Spiderman stuff, as do most boys his age. And, he's been a Ninja Turtle for 2 years, so he said it was time for him to be a "bad guy"! Oh, the logic of a 7 year old.
ETA: The card that was picked up for publication will not be in the e-zine until next month, apparently I jumped the gun and did some assuming. LOL
We also went to the On Cosby Festival for a bit yesterday. It's ususally the same old stuff, so I really don't see the need in going except to help our little town get some revenues for improvements. Cody got a few little trinkets and seems pretty content to have gotten to play in the bouncy inflatables.

Red and White Snowman

Yep, another Christmas card folks. Love this image, it has to be one of my favorite winter stamps. Simple layout too.

Had to find someone to put some brakes on my car over the weekend. I swear, when it rains, it pours. Then, we also found out that the transmission had NO fluid in it. Thank goodness I needed brakes, right?!

Mojo Monday Entry

I used Mojo Sketch 56 for this card. It's a pretty simple one, but very pretty. I colored the mailboxes to match my papers and added several different colors of fern fronds.

The card I had published in Scrapbook News and Review's e-zine is supposed to be active and viewable today. You may want to head over there and check it out. I am tingling with excitement and can hardly wait to see it in print.

No Place Like Home

I used Heather's sketch for this card, really fun sketch. The sentiment and small image are from Paper Trey's Home for the Holidays set. The dp and ribbon are from American Crafts and the brads are from The Paper Studio.

Cody is not really feeling or sounding any better. He is having a hard time knowing what to do regarding the breathing treatments. He won't inhale the meds and therefore he won't get any better. Can't get him to do it right.

The Test Tubes

These were found in the jewelry section of Wal-Mart on clearance..yippee for me. For the photo, I filled them with dew drops. They are likely filled with little goodies for a little girl by now, however. Hope she's thoroughly impressed with the packaging and my friend gets a high five or something.

I used the same supplies as yesterday's card, except the lining of the box uses BG 'em. The ribbon on the tubes is American Crafts.

Thanks for the well wishes for Cody. Poor kid has bronchitis and has to take breathing treatments 4 times a day for the next five days. We go back to the pediatrician on Monday to make sure the medicine regimen is working. So, no school until Tuesday...should be interesting since he told me recently that he's sick of days off! LOL This kid CAN'T be mine, seriously. I live for my days off.

Pink Passion, Chocolate, and More Items on Ebay

ETA: Here are some items I have listed on Ebay. Take a look and make a bid if you're interested.

Super simple card. The colors were dictated by the age of the recipient, she's 9. I made this and her gift as an order from a co-worker; I'll post the gift tomorrow. Hopefully, she will enjoy the gift and the card when she has her party.

Taking the boy to the doctor again today; he's just not getting any better even with the antibiotics. I feel just terrible for him. Hopefully, we will get some answers.

ETA: Here are some items I have listed on Ebay. Take a look and make a bid if you're interested.

Another super simple card. This time I used a sketch from here, love her sketches. The image and sentiment is from PTI Believe, the snowflakes from Verve Stamps. I used stickles to trace the sentiment and liquid applique on Santa's beard and moustache.

Duke ended up having to keep Cody yesterday because the sitter fell and hurt her back. Poor thing! I feel so bad for her.

I am hoping to finish up my Christmas cards over next weekend. I have about 35 more to make. The bad thing is that I have probably forgotten some people.

Warm and Cozy

The images are just perfect for these colors. I am loving Aqua Mist for Christmas and winter cards, just soft and toasty. The images are from a Queen & Co. set I picked up long ago. I stamped the background with PTI Borders and Corners Circle.

I am not ready for Monday, I didn't get enough rest. Ah well, life does go on right?! Hope the week goes by fast.

Celebrate a SFYTT

I made this based on the SFYTT from Jen. I love circles, so I knew for sure I would try it. The dp is from ScrapWorks and is so graphic, geometric, and bold. I used PTI Guide Lines for the smaller circles. The image and sentiment is from a set I picked up long ago and can no longer remember the name of.

Lazy day yesterday, just trying to keep the house clean and get some Christmas cards done. I'll be heading to the grocery store later today to pick up some of the things I forgot. Can you believe that I go with a list?! LOL

Advent Calendar

I really had a hard time getting a good photo of this, so this will have to suffice. I love that I made one of these this year, but man it was time consuming. I'm thinking I'll make another and see if I can get someone to buy it.

Used all the lovely papers from the MM pack that I bought. Tins from Wal-Mart on clearance, and the letters are felt thickers from American Crafts. I punched the flowers with a Martha Stewart punch.

Friday, October 10, 2008

Holly Jolly Christmas

I made this with the template from Amy R. The holly images are from Queen and Co., sentiment from Paper Trey, the rhinestones are from The Paper Studio.

Hope you all have a safe and happy weekend. Cody has a 4 day weekend starting today and I have lots to do with mine.

Snowman Ornament & Some Good News

The card I originally had scheduled to post is out for publication. Woo Hoo! I'll be seeing my card on or around October 18th in the publication seen above; I can hardly wait. Please check them out here.
I used my plain and scallop nesties as well as the snowman image from Penny Black. He's colored with copics and I added stickles for the sparkle on the snow.

Bearybox is having a layout and card sketch DT call if you are interested. I say go for it!

We watched Ironman last night and I will say that it wasn't quite as good as I was expecting it to be. I liked it, I just didn't love it. However, Robert Downey Jr. has never looked better. ;)

Sparkle Ornaments and One Sweet Blog Award

My friend Charith passed the award on to me with some lovely words. Thanks Charith. Not sure what the official rules are, but I wish to give this to all my regular readers and commenters. I love reading and getting all the sweet comments you all leave for me. And, I especially love visiting your blog, each of you is so inspiring and I have learned so much from you. So, thanks!

This is another card I made for the WCMD festivities at SNR. The challege was to make a card with at least 2 snowflakes, some glitter, and transparency. Well, I cut my transparency with the coluzzle and then covered them with stickles. Oh my word, they sparkle beyond belief.

Oh My Stars

I made this for another challenge at SNR over the weekend, I found them through 2sketches4you. So glad I had time to play. Luckily, I won a one year and a one month subscription to their E-magazine as well as a prize of some fabulous goodies, just for participating. And, the best news of all is that one of my cards is going to be published in their E-zine. Talk about exciting, I am just speechless and oh so grateful for the opportunity!

Ok, so you can see that I used the same paper as yesterday's card. This time it's paired with Garden Green and Whisper White cardstocks as well as an accent sheet from the same paper pack. The stars are from Verve Stamps Startlight Starbright and the other images are from Queen and Co.

This card uses a sketch from Jen Del Muro from some time back. Musta used a million dimensionals on this one.

Cody and I were sick yesterday and ended up having to see doctors. He has a cough that we haven't been able to get rid of and I have been feeling bad for over a week. Well, we are both suffering from sinus infections, total bummer. I feel awful and Cody sounds awful. I am hoping to make it through my day at work and then come home to rest. We shall see.

Hey Allison, did you see I posted at a later time??!! LOL I am hoping to catch up on some blog entries I may have missed over the weekend. Darn sinuses!

Boo To You

I made this for a challenge on the SNR site. The large image is from Studio G, colored with copics. The smaller images are from A Muse, again, colored with copics. The letters are felt Thickers from American Crafts.

The cardstock is SU! Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip; the dp is from MM. Hope you're not too bored with it, I have several cards made using each of the sheets coming up.

Thoughts of You

This card uses mytimess08, from the fantastic Lauren Meader. I used SU! Oh So Lovely for this card and my new long rectangle nesties. Pretty simple, but I really like it.

I got several cards completed yesterday during the big card making holiday. Hopefully, I will have won some fabulous prizes too. Never hurts to get free stuff!

Saturday, October 4, 2008

I used this week's sketch #31 from AmyR for this card. I am, again, using my MM dp from Target. The main sentiment panel is a Hero Arts stamp and the sentiment in the corner is from Verve Stamps. I am so glad to be knocking out some Christmas cards with all the sketch challenges these days. The sentiment looks kinda crooked in the photo, but it isn't IRL...weird.

I am hoping to participate with some WCMD festivities and to get some more cards either in my stash or ready to send out. Enjoy your day!

Buggy With It

I used a sketch from the MDC blog for this card. The image and sentiment are Langley Boy Designs stamps by Gina K.

My dad is doing a whole bunch better, thankfully. I can't thank you enough for all the well wishes. He's still in alot of pain, but is able to move more easily. He even went walking at Lowe's a few nights ago. My fear is that he'll start feeling a little better and hurt himself by overdoing it. Hopefully, my mother is keeping a watchful eye on him.

I sure am ready for the weekend! Hope yours is a good one!

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Merry, Merry Wishes

I used a sketch from 2Sketches4You for this card. The word stamp is a Studio G stamp, the sentiment is from the SAB set called Lots of Thoughts, and the poinsettias are from Verve Stamps, Seasonal Circles. I am using more of the MM dp I found at Target.

Just a quick post today, not alot going on.

ETA: I talked to my dad a bit ago and he sounds soooo much better than he did a few days ago. Obviously, he's still in alot of pain, and is still convinced the meds aren't working as well as they should. Of course, over 30 years have passed since his last back surgery, so I'm not entirely sure he remembers how painful they were and how much time it took to recover. Again, thanks to all of you for the well wishes and the prayers.

Here's A Hug

Super simple card with a super cute image from Hero Arts. Sending this to my dad to enjoy during his recuperation.

Got my mailout done late yesterday and am starting another project. Guess I don't have to worry about being bored...EVER!
