A Cupcake Challenge

Here is my card for the weekly challenge that Taylor hosts; this is for TECC44. I used a cupcake from Stampendous, the dp is from Making Memories and is some of my favorite paper. I don't have a whole big bunch left, so I hope it lasts a little while longer.

We are going to Ober Gatlinburg later today for my nephew's birthday party; my sister also works there. I hope that Cody enjoys the ice rink and the other activities they have. Don't know if I will be brave enough to put skates on! LOL

Tomorrow, I have an exciting bit of news to share with you. So stay tuned!

Howdy Partner

I used Jen's SFYTT for this week and Billy from Pink Cat Studio. The background is the new one from PTI. I just dotted each center with a white gel pen for somewhat of a bandana look.

Well, we braved Wal-Mart, but not at the crack of dawn. Instead I went at 9:00, hoping the few things I wanted were still there. No such luck with most of it, but we did get a few fleece lined jackets, track suits, and some toys for Cody. He was itching to spend the Christmas money he received from my parent's yesterday. He spent all but $6.00, so he has some for later.

Squeaky Clean

I just got this stamp set last week in the mail, I love this little monkey. Each of the bubbles and all of the suds have stickles all over them.

We had a great dinner out; I had actually gone to see my parents and family yesterday as well. It was nice to talk to them and get caught up with their lives. They couldn't believe how tall Cody is and how quickly he is growing. That tends to happen whether you're ready or not.

I also got to talk to my brother on the phone; he and his family are still in Illinois. They have tried to live here, but his wife doesn't like to be away from her family for very long. It's a shame we can't be closer.

I am hoping to do a little shopping today, after the crowds. There's nothing I saw this year that will get me to the stores at 5:00 AM; so we're going around 8:00 instead. Hopefully, the few things we want are still there.

After that, it's laundry and crafting. I have a few more projects to finish up as well as a few more Christmas cards.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is my take on the fourth sketch from Beary Box. You'll see that I veered a bit from the original sketch, but the essence is still there. Joey is giving away papers to this weeks winner, so be sure to try the sketch!

Hope you are having a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!

Gifts of the Season

I followed a sketch from Heather for this card, super fast and easy. I did it in like 10 minutes and I might be making some more cards with this sketch, it's just perfect for scraps.

Don't forget to check in here tomorrow, time permitting of course. I'll have the next sketch from Beary Box posted. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Hoppy Birthday Billy

This is another Billy card for my inventory at work. They love them!

Duke and I put plastic on our front windows, one has a huge crack and too much air is getting out and in. Guess we'll have to replace it in the spring.

Well, the boy doesn't have school after today; at least until Monday. He's excited, of course, but so am I. I have a long weekend too, I really need it. So much to take care of and do.

We just found out that Duke may have to drive his aunt and uncle to Florida sometime next month. They are just getting too old to make the trip themselves from Kentucky.

Rainy Day Lily

I chose to dress Lily in pink and green, I added Diamond Glaze to her boots and coat. I also added the crystal brads on either side of the large white one.

Just a three day week this week and I am thrilled. I did my best to clean my house thoroughly over the weekend so that I could spend some time in my craft room with the four days off. I don't know if I'll be successful or not, but that is the plan.

Again I used Billy. I have totally sold out of them at work and need to replenish my stash. I used AmyRS47 for this one and you can see the new PTI Background Basics Stars set I got this morning.

Cody's friend was over yesterday and things were going well until we got in the car to get some new tires for Duke's Jeep. He had a flat yesterday, turns out it was full of holes and we had no choice but to replace them. Anyway, the boys started being too loud and then started fighting. It was hard to keep the peace, but all went well once I gave them *the look*.

Thanks For Your Support

I used a Verve sketch for this one, and Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments from AmyR Stamps. Easy peasy card!

Going to get Cody's friend later in the morning and stopping by the Post Office for a little something special. *wink*

I'm going to be shopping around for a new camera soon. Trying to decide what to get on my veryyyy limited budget. Hoping there are some great deals on Black Friday.

Hoppy Hello

I used the Mojo 61 sketch for this card and my beloved Billy. I've had recent requests for this image from my crew at work. Gotta please the masses!

Work was quite the adventure yesterday. It took nearly 6 hours to connect me to the network and public folders. My computer has Vista and it proved to be quite the challenge. Thank goodness the IT person is persistent and patient, I was ready to throw it out the window.

I am looking forward to the weekend, I must say. One of Cody's friends will be coming over for a few hours tomorrow, let's hope I can keep it together until then.

Beary Box Sketch #3

This is for the third sketch from Joey at Beary Box. Again this week, there is a prize up for grabs to those who use the sketch, either the layout sketch or the card sketch, or both. You can check out all the details on the Beary Box blog. I hope you find time to play with us.

The top background is stamped with the stems from Embrace Life; all cardstock, dp, and ribbon from Paper Trey. The butterfly is a Martha punch.

I used Olivia from Olivia's Birdies from CC Designs. You can pick her up at All That Scraps. She's alot of fun to color too!

Here is the original sketch:

Penguin Cupcake

This adorable image is from All That Scraps; Cupcake Occasions by Cookie Crumbs. Awesome set, I love all the different combos.

The cardstock is from Paper Trey and the dp is American Crafts. You can see how well the embossing folder works on this great thick cardstock, just impeccable. I tried some chunky glitter around the edge of the circle, but I guess my glue didn't hold so well. Gonna have to try some filler.

The sketch is from Heather, she posts a new one each Monday.

Believe in Snowflakes

I made this for Amy R's sketch challenge this weekend, which was to make a single layer card with the sentiment in the bottom right corner.

The base of the card is Paper Trey as are the inks. The snowflakes are from Verve, my absolute favorite of their sets.

Well, I have moved into the front office at work. Finally got finished late in the afternoon. The desk and area are lots larger than the cubicle I had, so I am liking that. I am hoping to get it all cleaned up and organized by the end of the week. The front desk was used as office supply central and I gotta get it outta there. Plus, all the old files need to be placed in our warehouse. Should be an interesting day!

The Beary Box blog posted all the scrapbook layouts for the third sketch yesterday, all of them are fabulous. If you decide to play with the sketches, you could win a great stamp set. Go check it out.

Blessed Baby

I made this for my nephew and his wife who are expecting a baby pretty soon. It was kind of a shocker to hear the news earlier in the summer, they are entirely too young. Of course, I am the only one that waited until well into adulthood to become a parent. Some of my nieces had babies before I did;. they're all in such a hurry to grow up.

The image is from a Stampendous, colored with copics. The sketch is Lauren's mytimess12, a very nice one for small images. I used all PTI cardstock for this one. I like the depth of the Ocean Tides color with the softness of Lemon Tart. I especially like that it is gender neutral. I haven't been told which they are expecting, so I think this will work for both.

I am not looking forward to going into work tomorrow. I have to move to the front Reception Desk. With the two ladies gone, there will be some shifting around to cover all the positions and make sure that all the work still gets done. I stay cold and being by the door isn't going to help me much.

Cody's class is having their Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow and I had to buy the mac & cheese. We went to the grocery store somewhat specifically to get it, and FORGOT it. I swear I worry about myself sometimes. Of course, I thought I had plenty of time since I didn't really look at the date in the first place. Thankfully, yesterday I looked inside his backpack to make sure he didn't have any homework and there it was...the "buy the food" reminder. Had to make a quick run to the dollar store to pick it up.

I think I lost all the brain cells during pregnancy, just another reason I never had more children. I'd be dumb as a rock! LOL

Merry Christmas Sockafella

I again used Sockafella that I got from Anessa. I just love the image but it's alot to color in. I need to start choosing paper with more colors. LOL

The smaller images are from PTI, just punched out with circles.

Tanks a Lot

Quick and simple card. I used stamps from AmyR Stamps for this one, paper pieced the top. The papers are from the MM pack as well as HL. Ribbon is American Crafts.

Duke has my Jeep repaired!

I am hoping to head to HL later today for some clear ornaments, reinker and glitter. Gonna try decorating them ala AmyR.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Polka Dot Wishes

I used another Verve sketch for this one, again, unsure of the number. Really quick and simple card, hardly any stamping at all. Sometimes that's nice, I guess.

Hoping the weekend finds me in bed sleeping. With all the recent car trouble and the action at work, I'm exhausted. My car broke down again yesterday, same problem. Guess it wasn't fixed after all. Duke hopes to get it going today, so I have my fingers crossed!

In My Thoughts

This is the second sketch from Beary Box, another good one. You can read below for some exciting news should you decide to try the sketch.

I just love the PTI Floral Frenzy set and of course, the Pure Poppy color. Red is the perfect compliment to Taken With Teal, at least IMO. The die cuts are from a Cuttlebug set and there are a few images in the set that coordinate with them.

This text was taken off the Beary Box blog: I have some exciting news for everyone. This week we are starting something EXTRA. Those of you who are NOT on the design teams can compete to WIN A BearyBox $15US gift certificate! To compete in this challenge is extremely easy. To win the challenge will be a bit more difficult ;)

1. Simply make a layout or card based on the sketch given every Monday (layout sketch) and every Thursday (card Sketch). Designs are open to your own interpretation but they have to be recognizable.

2. Upload your design(s) on your blog or gallery and post a link on the comment area of the BearyBox blog before 12am Sunday Morning, Pacific Standard Time. There is no limit on how many designs you can submit!

3. The winner will be judged by our Design Teams and the final selection will be made by BearyBox based on their votes.

4. The winner will be announced every Monday.

Good luck everyone, can't wait to see what you create!

I got some of these images from my friend, Anessa. I colored it with copics, Stickles, and Liquid Applique. It got a little messy, but it is really fun and textured IRL. I used a Verve sketch for this card, unsure of which # it is.

Had to miss work yesterday, my Jeep gave me a warning light and then it just stopped. Thankfully, I was near a gas station and a phone. We had a cold morning yesterday too, terrible day to be stranded. We thought it was the alternator, but it turns out we have a bad battery. With all the running around, it still took near the entire day to get it fixed. We live in the sticks, NOTHING is convenient. Now, I just hope that the issue has been rectified and I don't have to worry about walking home.

Kreativ Blogger

I was given this award from Erin, AKA Fishlips. She must have the most creative and unusual blog name I have ever heard. She is a recent blogging friend and I'm so glad I found her, she's awesome! Thanks for the award Erin, I appreciate you thinking of me.

Unfortunately, I did not copy the rules and sadly I am far too lazy to do it as I prepare this post. I remember that I must bestow this honor to five other bloggers:

Jenn D

I used a sketch from Heather for this one, a fun sketch. The image is from MFT, I used the Basic Grey paper to piece the umbrella. And, you can see that I pierced above and below the image panel.

Monday, November 10, 2008

I used Jen's SFYTT for this week. Great sketch, but you can see I veered off course a bit with it. The images are from Pink Cat Studio and the sentiment is from PTI.

I got my hair cut and colored yesterday, it was time for a change. I am keeping the same color, but the cut is different and I am hoping I have an easier time maintaining it.

Hey Sexy!

I used the sketch from AmyR for this one, AmyRS45 to be exact. I also used her stamps! The dress is popped up and I shadowed around the image as well for some extra depth. The flowers are Prima Fancies, sentiment from MFT.

Got all the grocery shopping done yesterday, I am a whole lot lighter in the wallet, but we gotta eat. Here's hoping that today will allow some creative time as I have lots I need to do.

Super Sweet Tilda

I used Lauren's mytimess10 for this card. I got the Tilda image from Nicola some time back, she's super adorable.

Heading to the grocery store today, hopefully I can afford all that I need. We are almost out of everything! I am just thankful that we have decided to go out to dinner for Thanksgiving this year, so no cooking for me.

Well, two of the gals that I work with will be getting laid off on Friday, I am so sad for them. In all actuality, I was their last hire and was shocked that it wasn't me. But, I work for an entirely different publication, so I should be safe through all of this. Of course, I am incredibly upset for them and hope that they are able to find jobs right away.

Umbrellas and Friends

I used the sketch from All That Scraps DT Challenge, cool sketch. You can see I pulled out my AmyRStamps for this one as well, they are so fun! The image was stamped onto Curious Shimmer cardstock and you can see how it sparkles.

Things are a little crazy at work, lots going on. With the next book getting ready to be published everything is in full swing and I'm getting so far behind on my daily stuff, it's unreal. Hopefully, I will have a little bit of time to take care of it today.

Beary Box Sketch #1

Here is the first sketch for Beary Box. You can take a look at the blog for more samples from the rest of the Design Team. I really enjoyed this sketch and am certain I'll be using it again soon. Hope you do too. If you decide to try, be sure to link to the Beary Box blog.

Yep, another card using AmyR's sketch for this week. I finally decided to get this fella, been wanting him for a while. Lots of the guys at work golf, so I'll get lots of mileage from this one.

Well, I hope everyone voted yesterday. Cody and I went late in the afternoon, hardly any line at all. Cody was excited because I had him push all the buttons, so glad he was able to be involved in such an important civic duty.

Tomorrow will debut my card for the Beary Box sketch, it's a good one.

Peace on Earth

Here are a few more things I have listed on Ebay.

I used the same papers as yesterday's card, love it. I also used the cute Little Penguins from C.C. Designs. The sentiment is from PTI Believe and the snowflakes are a punch from Martha Stewart.

My sister's birthday is Thursday, she'll be 36. I'll have to call to give her a hard time about it, she always does it to me! LOL
