A Fairy For Kayleigh

This is a special digi stamp that Katie had made to benefit the Freeman family as their daughter, Kayleigh, fights for her life. You can see their story here. I will tell you that you will need a box of tissues, so be prepared.

Hello everyone! I switching out today's regularly scheduled post for something far more important! Recently, I came across a blog about a little baby girl, her struggle for life, and her family's struggle to stay afloat through it all. It struck a cord with me personally for many many reasons. Then, a cry from a dear friend asked for help. I knew immediately this was something I wanted to do. Something that I wanted to help others to do. I called up Diem (the illustrator for the Beautiful Day Fairies collection) and asked how fast she could draw me up a new stamp. She loved the idea and we chatted a bit about what we wanted and today I can present to you...

Here is my take on this week's sketch from Beary Box.

I used Life from Paper Trey Ink and my new Labels 4 nesties. I sponged on a little white ink onto the black flower and then added the bling to the sides. Fun sketch!

Pink and Green Cuppa

I used a light green and a bright pink for my card today. I also used Mini Sweets, a great set with fun images and sentiments. And, this set is on sale, so hop on over to the Queen Kat Designs store to get yours today.

What?

This is my new favorite song, oh my word! I just happened to hear this song Sunday afternoon and in typical Tina fashion, I am completely obsessed with it.

This is Jen's SFYTT for this week, I used Tweeties from C.C. Designs available at All That Scraps.

I love these birds, so whimsical and cute. Those lashes did me in! The image is stamped onto Neenah paper, this is my last quart sheet and I hope to get some more next week. I love it, the copics blend so smoothly on it.

There was a contest throughout our company, which consists of several newspapers and other publications, where the first to respond won Quantum of Solace and some popcorn. The first three responses were from the office I work in. So, tonight is my night and I got two bags of popcorn to boot. Can't wait to see it, love the Bond movies.

Slow and Steady PMS Challenge

Today's card uses Dawdling Turtle from Paper Makeup Stamps. Our challenge today is a sketch challenge.

Today's challenge has been issued by Dawn Wheeler, a fabulous sketch that you can see on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog.

This one has lots of layers as well as some fun colors and papers. And, I added texture to the turtle's head using Copic Blending Solution and a paper towel. All you do is wad up the paper towel, add some blending solution and dab where you want the texture. It's a fun technique that I will be experimenting more with. I love the effect.

Sweet Treats

I used Mini Sweets from Queen Kat Designs for this card. It has some lovely images and two sentiments AND is on sale.

I apologize if you have already seen this on the Queen Kat Designs blog, but I have not had a whole lot of time in the bat cave. I am hoping to find lots of time this weekend however. But, planting season is here and I'm hoping that the yard gets cleaned up for all my flower beds and rose bushes. Duke is preparing the yard and beds, I just have to assist...er, supervise what goes where.

He's also buying some lumber to convert our small back deck into a larger storage room. Our house is bursting at the seams! I suppose it's a good problem to have, it just cuts into my stamp time. I don't like for that to happen, ever!

Sweet Jashen

This is Jashen, an adorable little fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps.

Cody helped my choose the colors, love the blue and green. I used white puffy paint for the clouds, they are extra fluffy!

Wrapped Up

I was able to participate in a challenge at SCS this week, the sketch challenge SC225.

I used Become So Wrapped from Paper Makeup Stamps. Did you know Katie sells them in two sizes?

I used a gold AtYou Spica glitter pen around the inside of the Labels 2 nestie before I removed the die cut. You can see some of the sparkle.

I love this paper from American Crafts, great colors and patterns. Of course, I love polka dots.

Hanging Hearts

I used a tree from the Funky Trees set found at Queen Kat Stamps. I stamped the hearts from the set and then covered them in stickles. Isn't that a fun image?!!

Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop

Today's theme is paper piecing. I used Cupcake Friends, I just keep reaching for it. I took the easy way out and just pieced the cupcake liner. I have also been reaching for my white gel pen a little more these days, it certainly adds a little something to the image for definition.

I used the Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder for the white panel, it adds so much texture as well as eliminating the need for a sentiment.

Green Tea

I used Lauren's Get a Handle On It template to package some green tea. Naturally, I used green cardstock and then used the navy blue for the scallop frame and bottom of the box, the tea bag was totally my inspiration for this. As you can see, I channeled Lauren...the scallop frame is something she does often.

The teapot image was included FREE in an order from Susana's store and totally came in handy for this particular project and any others that involve tea. I really want the new set PTI put out this month, but it just isn't possible right now.

I used Swirly Tree from Paper Makeup Stamps all around the box as well, I thought it emulated steam.

A PMS Color Challenge

I used sweet Caliope with Heart for the Paper Makeup Challenge this week. Our Challenge Hostess is the wonderfully talented Dawn Knight; she chose Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Old Olive, and Kraft. I had to use Ripe Avocado since I am out of Old Olive. Jenn, I am gonna have to place an order soon!

Caliope is colored with copics on my new favorite paper, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. We got samples of it at the Copic Certification class yesterday and I can say that I am thoroughly impressed with it. Hopefully, I will be able to find some soon enough.

I had hoped to get about three cards stamped once I returned home, but I was too pooped. I managed this one and will attempt more on my day off on Wednesday. Gotta practice all those techniques we were taught!

Fore You!

I whipped up this card to thank my boss for coming up with cute quips for my fellas from Stamping Bella.

My boss is a golfer and a pretty snappy dresser, so he should enjoy this card. I used the same papers and colors as my card yesterday. I originally thought this paper was more suited to babies, but it looks pretty good for this masculine card as well.

Well, I will be at my Copic Certification class today, cross your fingers that I find it. I'm going to a city that I have never been to before and it's supposed to rain all day.

Welcome Baby

My nephew and his wife welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world on Monday. My brother and his wife are in hog heaven! I can hardly believe my younger brother is already a grandparent.....makes me feel old.

I'm not entirely sure where this image came from but I think I got it on sale at HL some time ago specifically to make a card for this particular occasion. One of the rare times I planned ahead, go me!

This card will accompany some cute baby goodies next week. We're all putting a little something in a box for them. They've been collecting since they found out they were expecting, so they really don't need much. But, you can never have too many onesies, diapers, and jammas.

Dakota had to have a blood transfusion this week as well, 2 pints. He's recovering well and has a few more chemotherapy treatments next week. Hopefully, just four more and he's done. Of course, this all depends on the status of his numerous tumors.

Colorful Shroomies

I used some spring colors as well as some Kaiser bling in black. The green strip will hold a sentiment once I decide who this card is going to, but I'm thinking that word "Magical" will make it on this one. LOL

Caught A Bug?

I used Ladybug Friends designed by Diane Zechman for CC Designs. I fell in love with it during the peeks and knew that I had to have it.

The papers are really fun with great patterns, perfect for spring. I finally used my Spellbinders labels trio, I've had them for some time and never used them.

I'm trying to use up some of my stash, hopefully I won't bore you with it.

Birthday Cupcake

Another card using Cupcake Friends from Queen Kat Designs.

I used some of my favorite Making Memories designer paper, too bad I can't find any more of it. I used a white gel pen to add a little detail to the cupcake.
