Scrapbook News and Review is having open calls for the June and July issues, you can find the details here.
Have a super fantastic weekend!!
I used a quote from the Believe set, which I don't see on the site. Maybe it's sold out, I'll get with Katie to find out.
I went a little nutso with the Dazzling Diamonds, but bubbles can be sparkly! I am also loving the airbrush compressor, so easy to use with Copics.
If you have arrived at my blog on your own, please be sure to go to the Queen Kat Designs blog to view all the goodness of today's blog hop. If you have arrived from the Queen Kat Designs blog, you are on the right track.
Today's Royal Kat Wednesday challenge is to use stitching on your card, real or faux. I opted for faux stitching.
This little Ketto image is one that Michelle stamped out for me. Cute, cute, cute!
I used lovely papers from Stampin' Up! called, Pink Flamingo. They are so vibrant and beautiful and I have had lots of fun using them. The sketch is Mojo44, a great one with lots of layers.
Today, Paper Makeup Stamps is sponsoring a challenge for the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's campaign. Duke's Mother passed away a few years ago, she suffered from Alzheimer's for the 9 years that I knew her. In fact, I never knew her before it. It is hard to watch someone you love suffer from this disease. I think it's almost worst than most out there because it robs you of the very thing you live for, memories.
The challenge is to use "Any Winged Thing" on your card; it can be a fairy, butterfly, bird, etc. I used Sprout, one of my favorite fairies. She is just exquisite and so fun to color. I added some Angel Wings Shimmerz to her wings, can't leave them bare.
I sure hope you can play along, remember there is a $25 gift certificate to Paper Makeup Stamps up for grabs. Please use the tag PMSSOA in the gallery so we can easily see all the cards in one place! What are you waiting for? Get busy!!
Members of the Stampin Out Alzheimers event will also get a coupon code to the PMS website for 10% off their order. You'll just have to look for our blinkie in the sidebar to get the code.
This is one of the images I received from Lynn; a cute little Stampendous Bee.
You can see I had to try out the airbrush compressor with my copic markers, such a fun effect. I definitely need practice and will be doing that this weekend with any luck. Fun! It's a little noisier than I had hoped.
Cody had to try it out too, thank goodness it's simple enough to do. He had a blast; even made a scene with flowers and leaves. His teacher will be the recipient of that little gem.
I hope to enjoy the long weekend ahead. It'll be great to stay in my jammies for sure. But, there is some cleaning to be done as well since I will be having guests in a little over a week. Gotta get the dust bunnies OUT. So, time to clean the cabinets, windows, and baseboards.
I went with a very simple, unfussy layout and then just used my nesties to cut out the image and the scalloped mat.
I got to participate in the SCS Sketch Challenge this week, SC229. Woot!
Ashlie was perfect for the main image panel for this week's sketch, so I went with it. I used some fun colors that matched this super pretty paper from American Crafts. I just love the polka dots. Once she was colored, I added stickles to her wings. Stickles are just perfect for all the fairies that Paper Makeup Stamps carries.
Allison sent this stamp set from Making Memories, two Studio G sets, 2 rolls of American Crafts ribbon, and a great card. SCORE! All of this for playing along in her No Housework Day challenge.
The fabulously talented and sweet Lynn, sent me some Changitos, Stampendous Bees, and Riley images. And a gorgeous card, which again, has been kidnapped and being held for ransom.
Doesn't that slice of cake look scrumptious?! It's from the Mini Sweets set at Queen Kat Designs.
This is a sketch from AmyR's guest designer, Tammy Fielder AMYRTFS1. A fun sketch with lots of layers. My circle is not quite as large, but I really wanted to use this image.

This is my take on the Beary Box sketch for this week.
I used Mini Sweets again, paired with this paper from American Crafts. Such a fun sketch to play with this week, I like it.
We all have flowers, right?! So get them out and use them on your card or project.
I finally used one of Dustin Pike's dinosaurs available for purchase at Paper Makeup Stamps.
The sentiment is from H&M Stamps, A Little Behind. The dinosaur reminded me of the one in Night At The Museum, hence how I thought the sentiment was so clever.
Hop on over to the PMS Forum to see all the challenges; if you don't have PMS stamps....no worries, we just want to see what you've got.
I received this award from my girls Anessa and Lynn, thanks ladies-right back at ya!
