Love Notes and Smiles

I made this Friday night when I tripped over this frame I bought eons ago at Wal-Mart.

Sorry the photo isn't the best. The frame is too big for my small light box and my lights are too small for my large lightbox. LOL! So, this was taken in the larger light box with the small lights. Gotta work on that.

I finally got the Flower Creations die by Spellbinders. I had trouble getting it to cut all the way through the cardstock at first; so I used some chipboard to help the process along. Still not perfect, but loads better. I also tried my hand at airbushing them.

I added all my embellies to the outside since the inside does not lend itself for bulk.

I intend this to be a place where we can keep track of things, a dry erase board of sorts. Love notes are my version of a honey do list.

The Sneak Peeks for Paper Makeup Stamps start on Thursday, July 2nd. Hold on to your hats girls, it's gonna be a good one!

PMS Monday Challenge, Faux SIlk

Today is my day to challenge the Design Team and you with a technique. I chose Faux Silk. The tutorial is here.

I used the Willow Tree and a sentiment from Nature's Song for my card. The Willow Tree was stamped onto the tissue paper and the sentiment was stamped directly onto the cardstock.

I hope you can play along this week and try this technique. You don't have to use PMS stamps, you just have to have fun. When uploading to a public gallery, just use the keyword PMSMC17 so we can take a look. Oh, and remember to link your card on the PMS blog as well.

Complications

Dear SNR Friends

Technology is a wonderful thing but at times brings with it a bit of frustration and causes sudden changes in plans. We are going though an immense time of growth and striving to bring you the best magazine that the crafting/scrapping world has experienced. In order to sustain that growth, we are having to perform some changes to the site that will cause us expected down time.

Please bear with us as we accomplish what needs to be done. We can assure you that the wait will be worth it.

Your dedicated friends at SNR

Happy Birthday Katie!!

Today is Katie's birthday! I jumped on board to make her a card and to make sure her day is special. I even baked up this sweet confection!! *wink*

Of course, I had to use Katie the Makeup Fairy, what could be more fitting?!! She is just the cutest.
Please make sure you stop by her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday! Katie, you are just the best and I hope your day is incredible! Hope you have many more!

Also today, PMS is sponsoring the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge, which is to make a pocket or wallet card. The prize up for grabs is the Sprinkles and Cherries set and Birthday Lauren.

Oh, and DawnB has PMS blog candy. Check it out here.

Hope your day is fabulous!!

Color Overload

I'm in color overload as I sample the sketch from AmyR for this week, AMYRS70. Of course, AmyR loves color, so it's easy for it to rub off.

I used Shroomies from Queen Kat Designs today, it's been too long. This and all other Queen Kat Designs stamps are 35% off now through June 29th, go get 'em while you can.

I'm using up paper scraps from October Afternoon as well as some of my Prima stash. I don't have much left, so it'll feel great when it's gone.

Well, I am so ready for the weekend. It's been a long week at work, so much HAD to get done. And, my boss was out of the office until yesterday, so that meant some catching up on office happenings. Oh, and my one year anniversary was Tuesday. It hardly feels like I've been there a year....then again, other times it feels like I've been there longer. LOL

Baby Gabe

This is my card for last week's sketch challenge at SCS, SC233. It's a really great one with some layers, which I like.

I used Baby Gabe, released this month at Paper Makeup Stamps. He's named after Katie's son and he is just the cutest little thing.

I used some new dp from October Afternoon called Ducks in a Row. Great color palette and the patterns are so fun.

I experimented by using Memento London Fog ink; I think it's a nice change from black and offers a bit of softness to this sweet image.

Tea Time SFYTT

I loved this week's SFYTT, you can find it on Jen's blog. Loads of layers and fun shapes, what more can a girl ask for?!!

I'm trying to use up some scraps and this sketch was perfect for that. I also FINALLY used Tea For Two, a most beautiful set from Paper Trey Ink.

I added just a few fun details like paper piercing and some rhinestones and called it done. Love this sketch and will be sure to use it again very soon.

Still have stamps for sale here.

PMS Monday Challenge 16

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge issued by Tangii. I loved working with it.

I used the ever adorable Katie Fairy for my card. I just think she's precious, just like the IRL Katie.

The rest of the Design Team rocked it out again this week, you can see what they've done on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog. They always impress!!

I have some images from The Greeting Farm for sale, check them out here.

It's back to work and a busy week at that. Lots to do!

Summer Flip Flops

I shared this on the Queen Kat blog, but not here. It uses Beach Essentials, such a great set. And, Vicki has them on sale, be sure to check out the store.

The flip flops feature a rhinestone in the center of the flower and some sparkle on the straps. The paper is some that I found some time ago from MME.

I am so ready for the weekend, aren't you?

Enjoy a Cuppa

This is my card for this week's Beary Box sketch challenge, such a great one.

I used Let's Get Together from There She Goes, such a great set. Love all the coffee and tea sets, even though I am not a coffee drinker. Of course, I know lots of people who are and they always appreciate a card or gift featuring their addiction.

You'll have to head over to the Beary Box blog to see what they other Design Team members did. Should you decide to sample the sketch, please be sure to link it up on the Beary Box blog so we can all take a peek.

Vicki has discounted all Queen Kat Designs stamps by 35% now through June 29th. Get over there and pick up some super cool stamps.

Well, one more day of work and then it's time for the weekend. Lots to ready before the cookout, so I'll be a busy girl starting on Friday night.

Time for a Picnic

I got another chance to use Picnic Fairies, it was released last week.

They sure look like they're having fun! Oh, how I love a picnic. Guess it's all that fabulous food and being outdoors. Nothing like it.

The following text was taken from the Paper Makeup Stamps blog:

Paper Makeup Stamps is participating in a CLEARANCE event being held by Scrapbooking Roads. The event actually starts today and will run thru the 23rd! With the current economy being what it is, we decided to cut you a little break on some prices! There are items in every category on the site with reduced prices (exception, our copic prices are ALREADY reduced, so they'll remain at $5.50). BUT there is a catch! There is only a limited quantity that varies per item. Once that quantity is sold, the price will return to its normal price. So shop early for the best prices!

Teeny Bikini

How cute is that 'kini?!

It's from Beach Essentials and is available now at Queen Kat Designs. I was inspired by the polka dots so I embossed the background with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. You can see that I went a little overboard with the scallops as well, love them too.

So, the boy is enjoying his summer vacation and has done his best to spend as much time as possible in just his underwear. It cracks me up to know what sorts of things make him happy and this happens to be one of them. Of course, we are trying to fit in some things that require clothing....it comes with a little protest, however.

We're also hosting a cook out for Father's Day with Duke's family. The good news is, we get to choose the menu and dictate what everyone brings, so I am working on that. And, we got new chair pads for the patio set, so we can all gab outside.

PMS Color Challenge

Today, Jamie challenged the PMS DT to use the colors Summer Yellow, Aqua, and Chocolate. You can also use either white or cream.

I used Nature's Song which was released this month. It's a great silhouette stamp set that helps you make beautiful cards in a hurry. I really appreciated that this weekend as I have been stamping my heart out on things I cannot show you any time soon.

Please be sure to stop by the PMS blog to see how the other DT members rocked it out. Should you choose to participate this week, use the keyword PMSMC15 when you upload to any public gallery. We'd love to see what you do.

A Bowl of Cherries

This is my entry for the PMS color challenge from the Release Party. It was to use Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, and Rose Red. I am out of Rose Red *gasp*, so I substituted with Raspberry Fizz.

I used Christi, she was released on Sunday. Super cute and oh so fun to color. The flowers on the bottom of the image were cut from acetate using smallest of the Peony Nesties.

I also added a little texture to Christi's dress and the basket using the Copic colorless blender. Just press and hold for a moment, that's it.

Have a super terrific weekend!

Aloha Spirit

This is my take on the sketch from Beary Box for this week, such a fun one.

I used the super fun Aloha Spirit set from Queen Kat Designs. Isn't that hibiscus flower just remarkable? Love it.

I hope you find time to play with the sketch. Be sure to link up to the Beary Box blog so we can all take a look at it. You just might win this week's fab prize.

QKD Summertime Fun Challenge

If you happened upon my blog directly, you are missing all the eye candy. You can go here to see all the deliciousness from the beginning. If you came here from Michelle's blog, you are on the right track.

This is my card for the Queen Kat Designs sketch challenge on PCP as well as this week's theme of summertime fun. I used the swim trunks from Beach Essentials as nothing says summertime like swimming.
I really wanted those trunks to be the star of the show, so no designer paper or elaborate embellishments.

Your next stop is Vicki, the Queen Kat herself! Thanks for visiting.

The Trike

This is Trike, a great dinosaur image illustrated by Dustin Pike.

I used some of my favorite Making Memories designer paper. So colorful!

The visit with my friend and her family was very nice. They are just so sweet and happy, it was great to get to know her again and witness the bonding of our children. They were fast friends, inseparable almost immediately. Of course, they live so far away, that visits will be few and far between.

We went to WonderWorks, then lunch, then to visit my parents. We finally made it to my house and Duke had to rescue them from our driveway! Such a steep incline, most people don't heed our advice and get stuck. Guess it always makes for a great story once they get home!

This is also my card for today's PMS challenge issued by Shaela. This week we were challenged to use something clear on our cards, what fun! I stamped a piece of acetate using Swirlie Tree and white ink and then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds.

Head on over to the PMS blog to see how the rest of the design team rocked it out! I hope you find time to play along with us this week. If you do, please use the keyword PMSMC14 so we can find it!

PMS June Sneak Peek

Talk about one super cute image, I loved her the minute I saw her. This is Sunsoaked Caliope and she is adorable.

Ok, so I broke out the airbrush machine AGAIN. Can't seem to put it down, but she needed to be in the sand on a sunny day.....geesh!

Be sure to head to the PMS blog to see what everyone else did with their monsters.

She'll be available on Sunday, June 7th. The PMS Design Team will be having a blog hop featuring all the new fairies on Sunday as well, so stay tuned for that info. Wait until you see the entire release, you will flip!!

Don't forget to join us on the forum on Sunday, the fun starts at 4:00 PM.

Beary Box Sketch 28

This is my take on the Beary Box sketch for this week.

I used the yummy Autumn Leaves paper and Life from PTI. It photographed a little wonky, the colors match much more closely IRL.

Be sure to head to the Beary Box blog to see what the other DT members did with the sketch. If you play along, be sure to link it up so we can all take a peek.

Tomorrow my friend will be here and my home is nearly ready for visitors. Just a few last minute touches and I'll be done. Hopefully, before 3 pm.

Let's Get Together

It's all Christi's fault....she has used this set and tempted me with it one time too many.

The set is called Let's Get Together from There She Goes. I ordered on Thursday and my set was in my mailbox on Saturday! I love it when that happens.

I just used some super gorgeous paper from American Crafts to make it sophisticated. This will be accompanying some tea as well as a tea cup for my friend; and an invitation for a quiet talk the morning she leaves. She hasn't even arrived yet and I am already dreading telling her good-bye. Such a sap!!

Dandy Wishes

Today, I used Kirsten. I found some paper at my LSS on Friday and I just had to use it.

I used Jen's SFYTT for this week and had to make an adjustment or two since my image panel is larger than the one in the sketch.

Today is also our weekly PMS challenge. Please head over to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to find out what the challenge is and to see how the DT knocked it out! It's a fun one, I promise; I just hadn't been able to get one prepared yet.
