I've Been Framed

It's Wednesday and that means that the Queen Kat Designs team is having a blog hop. If you haven't started from the beginning, be sure to do that HERE.

I picked up this frame from Hobby Lobby some time ago, it was 40% off, so of course I had to get it. I decided not to cover the natural wood entirely as most of my decorations are in the same color scheme and this will fit right in.

I stamped the tree from Funky Trees and then added tons of leaves in different colors; the leaf stamp is part of the set. One strip of some Cosmo Cricket paper on the side was just enough for me. The pumpkin was made from an oval punch and the leaves from a Spellbinders flower die.

I just love it and so does my son! He has already claimed it as his and it is proudly displayed on his dresser.

This is my final blog hop for Queen Kat Designs, my term ends today. It has been fun designing for Vicki and getting to know the other ladies. Thanks Vicki for the opportunity!

Now, be sure to visit Vicki, the Queen Kat herself. I know she has something fabulous to show you.

Lavender Prayers

I was able to participate in Saturday's Inspiration Challenge at SCS, IC199. I chose this cute pair of shoes as my inspiration.
Seems like I always gravitate to Nature's Song for challenges, wonder what that's about?! The stem from Friendly Flowers was stamped and them embellished with black rhinestones.

I love how simple and sweet this looks, especially with such a striking color combo.

Olive Chocolate and Ruby

I am today's PMS challenger, and I chose a color challenge- Olive, Chocolate and Ruby.

The to go cup is from Caffeine Trip, can you tell I am loving this set? How funky is that to go cup?

The weekend went by too quickly, always seems to anyway. With all the rain we got over the course of the week and especially on Saturday, the creek at the end of our driveway flooded the road in several areas and mooshed down some of the tall grass. I am soooo glad I didn't have to get out in that weather. We also had a few downed trees which explains the loss of power. But, the sun was out yesterday and hopefully we'll see it again this week.

Be sure to check out the PMS blog to see what the other girls did.

Monochromatic Caffeine Trip

I love the set, Caffeine Trip. The sketch is from The Sweet Stop and Our Creative Corner has a monochromatic challenge going on this week.

The papers are from Paper Trey Ink, and the image is colored with copics to match.

The day was filled with rain yesterday, the power went out twice and the roof started leaking. Cody had to check everything in every room, reporting to me, "yep, this tv is out too." Uh, yeah, he still doesn't get it!

A Sweet Pea

ETA: Take a look here, I am in the running for a Guest Designer spot for The Sweet Stop sketches. Sugar Baby, so cute!

This little cutie patootie is Sweet Pea from Pink Cat Studios, just adorable.

I used Mercy's sketch from last week, MTSC39. She has really great sketches, you need to check them out.

I used an embossing folder and some brads to add a little interest to the image and to the sketch. I'll be sending this to my great-nephew Jayden along with some little goodies for him to enjoy.

Happily Ever After

I finally used Damask Designs from Paper Trey Ink, finally. I cased Heather Pulverenti for this card as well.

The wife of one of my boss' asked me to make a wedding card for her assistant/ best friend who is getting married next month and then moving away. She's happy for her, but sad to have the distance between them. I chose some non-traditional colors, loving the punch of the Raspberry Fizz ribbon.

The sentiment is from another PTI set, I think the name is Favor It Weddings. The swirl scroll is from Boxes, Bags, and Tags also from PTI. I think the nesties shape nicely compliments the damask and bring a certain elegance to this wedding card.

I even cut a Top Note die and used it on the inside since I chose a dark cardstock for the base.

Inspired

It's Wednesday, and that means that the Queen Kat Design Team is having a blog hop. If you didn't start from the beginning, be sure to do that HERE. Plus, you don't want to miss the inspiration photo.

What struck me first about the room were the punches of pumpkin all over and the general look of the room. Lots of "white" space, the starfish on the accent wall have the look of being embossed. So, I mimicked that. The embossing folder is one from Quickutz, I adore it.

The tree is from Funky Trees, stamped in Pumpkin ink, then die cut and embossed with a Labels 4 die. Lastly, I embellished it with some flatback pearls.

A Winter Sweater Set

I adore this set from Queen Kat Designs, released earlier this month.

I don't think I shared this here, but you may have seen it on the Queen Kat Designs blog.

The embossed background really set the mood, imho. Love the colors of this too, raspberry is the new black! LOL

We are getting so much rain here in East Tennessee, that I think we might float away if we weren't on a mountain. Holy smokes! I know they say we need the rain, I just wish there were a few days of sunshine in between the downpours.

Getting Punchy

Monday means another PMS challenge; this week our challenger is Tangii.

We were challenged to use punches and die cuts, but nesties don't count. It means you can use them, but they don't count as a die cut. Well, as attached as I have been to my nesties lately, this card was quite a challenge. I managed to fit in some circle punches as well as a border punch.

I chose to use Apples to Apples, a most wonderful set released earlier this month. It features apples in various stages of being eaten as well as some great sentiments and quotes. Love it. And, it's perfect for this October Afternoon paper, perfect I tell you.

We hope that you find time to play along this week. If you upload, be sure to use the keyword PMSMC28 and paper makeup stamps, so it goes into the correct gallery. Remember, you don't have to use PMS stamps, but since Katie is giving freebies every Friday, there's nothing stopping you.

Sparkles and a Cuppa

I used the SSS22 sketch and color challenge (red, black, tan) found on the Sweet Stop blog this week. The image is from Caffeine Trip. It has loads of sparkle and some Crystal Effects on the mug.

I just love the images in this set, so fun and different from everything else out there. I embossed the red background with the swirls folder to emulate steam. Once it was colored, I cut it out with nesties.

Hope you all are having a fabulous Sunday!

Forgotten

I used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and their color challenge from a few weeks ago to help me make this card.

I am unsure why the colors are so wonky. I was so happy to use some of this dp from SU too, I've got so much left over.

The sentiment and image are from Paper Makeup Stamps, Nature's Song. I reach for it all the time, one of my most beloved sets.

Don't forget about today's Freebie Friday, head over to the PMS blog to see what Katie has for you this week.

Rolling Hills

The flower stamp is from Odd Bird Planet, this is the first time I tried some of their stamps. They stamp very nicely and they have some cute designs.
I cut the BG Lime Rickey paper in a curve to mimic a rolling hill. THe BG paper is so graphic and bold. Love the shades of green in this sheet too.

Dude, I am soooo ready for the weekend! We finished uploading our magazines last night; production was a nightmare this time around!

Give Thanks

If you've just happened across my blog and didn't start at the beginning, click here.

Today's Royal Kat Wednesday is a color challenge; they are not my favorite type of challenge because I have a hard time proportioning each color. But, my papers helped me out this time.

I used Give Thanks, a great set perfect for the fall season. Actually, it's great for all seasons.

I used a branch punch from EK Success and found it to be a near perfect compliment to the vine in the set, score!

Now hop on over to see Maria!

Monster Hop

Today Paper Makeup Stamps is having a blog hop to celebrate the mid-month release of monsters. If you didn't start from the beginning, be sure to do that HERE.

I chose to pair the mummy and that super scary spider. I am really enjoying this paper I got from Hobby Lobby a few weekends ago. Best of all, it was on sale.

I chose to make the mat for the spider with two colors, just adhered them together before cutting them with my nesties.

One (1) lucky person will win the entire monster release just by commenting on each design team member's blog. Easy peasy!

Now, hop on over to see the wonderful Jamie.

Flap Card Challenge

Today's PMS challenger is Jamie and she challenge us to make a flap card.

I followed the directions from the SCS tutorial, super fun and easy. I used an image and sentiment from Caffeine Trip and some papers from October Afternoon.

Now, head on over to the PMS blog to see what the other ladies did with this challenge.

Latte Thanks

One of my favorite Moody Girls is this one, Moody for Coffee. Sentiment is from Caffeine Trip.

I was able to participate in the SCS sketch and color challenge last week, love a twofer. I love these colors together and was happy to use up some more of this paper from American Crafts.

A Swiss Pixie

This little cutie is Heidi, from All That Scraps.

I tell you, these images from All That Scraps get cuter every month. It's too hard to resist them, so I took the plunge a few months ago and got a few.

I put a bit of stickles on her fairy wings, of course, and added some bling to the image panel once it was cut out with nesties.

Espresso My Thanks

Just love this Moody Girl, so full of character!

I used some really bold designer paper, but I don't think it competes with her at all. The sentiment is from Caffeine Trip released this month from Paper Makeup Stamps.

I am really loving circles and scallops these days, which may be evident to all of you. I didn't realize it until I completed all of my design team assignments and uploaded them. Ah well, maybe it's a phase.

Don't forget about today's Freebie Friday on the PMS blog.
