Basket of Thanks

I used Karen's sketch, SSSC45 again this week along with this wonderful image from Gina K.

I went with minimal embellies for this super simple sketch. Simplicity seems to be key these days.

Black Bear Christmas

This little cutie was a freebie I grabbed off Dustin Pike's blog. So sweet.

I paired him with some lovely papers from Making Memories that I picked up last year. I decided to go with a super simple layout, perfect for those times that you need to create, but can't commit to alot of time.

Where in the heck has this week gone? I can hardly believe Monday will be here tomorrow and I will be off to work. Thank goodness we'll have some more days around Christmas.

Jot This Down

I made this to match the Ms. Nancy card as this has gone to Cody's teacher for her Thanksgiving gift. Super simple, but oh so handy.

The papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Report Card pack, I love it to pieces. I comes in handy for some of the school projects and gifts I give throughout the year. I'll have to remember to get more.

Again, it is very simply embellished. I love projects like this when you don't have much time but still want to do something nice.

Holly Jolly

Today's Makeup for the Weekend Challenge is to make your project holiday or winter themed. I chose to use Holly and some fun papers from Cosmo Cricket and Making Memories.

The sentiment is perfect for her, Season's Greetings Holiday sentiments. I stamped it in Garden Green and then carefully colored the holly leaves and berries with copics and glitter pens. Then I slathered stickles on her wings and on the icicles.

Hope you find time to play along with us. Be sure to use the keyword makeup4theweekend06 when you upload to any public gallery, then be sure to link it up on the PMS blog so we can all take a look!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone is having a gloriously Happy Thanksgiving holiday. We decided that it would just be the three of us this year, no guests, no traveling. It'll be a great time to count our blessings and just enjoy being together.
My card today uses a set from Gina K; sentiment and border from PTI. I've had this basket of apples colored for a bit, just waiting to be placed on a card. I used Karen's sketch, SSSC45. The dp is from Making Memories, this is absolutely my favorite sheet from the pack.

Happy Eating!

I used Lauren's My Timeless Template, Pack a Picnic, to house a liquid potpourri burner for my boss and his wife. This is the larger of the two included in the download.
It was very easy to put together, but the lid is a bit too loose for my liking. Unfortunately, there was no time to redo it, so I used it anyway. It is very simply embellished, but those papers really pack a punch.

I am feverishly trying to get my grocery shopping done today so that I don't have to leave the house for much over the next few days.

All My Friends Are Flakes

I played along with the sketch at The Sweet Stop, SSS31. This week they have a twist, to use sewing on your card.

I cheated a bit and used stitched ribbon since I had neither the time nor the inclination to go to the sewing machine.

I used some more of these fun papers from the Jolly by Golly paper pad. They have some really fun prints included. The image is from Snow Happy as is the sentiment.

Have a terrific Tuesday. I am excited as after today, I am off for 5 days...yep, 5 days. I can hardly contain my excitement. Let's just hope I can fit some fun in.

Chatty Charlotte

This cutie is Charlotte, found her at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Oh my good gravy, the expression on her face is priceless; definitely looks like she's got something to say to you. You can almost imagine that her eye is twitching, LOL!

I colored her to match my papers, and her outfit is one hot mess. Adorable.

Whimsy Seal

This little sweetie is a stamp from Whimsy Stamps. I made this card for a Manufacturer Spotlight at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine back in the summer. The stamps are so adorable, they come mounted on EZ Mount and with laminated stamped storage sheet.

He was stamped, then colored with Copics. I tried to get as many different types of circles on this card as possible. Bubbles galore!

I have quite the busy day ahead of me. Picking up appliances and then picking up my honey at the airport. Let's hope I can get everything done in time, it's going to be crazy.

Ms. Nancy

I made this for this week's sketch challenge at SCS, SC255. A good one for some of the tall, skinny images and sentiments.

I used Ms. Nancy, released earlier this month from Paper Makeup Stamps. Her skirt was paper pieced with the lovely striped paper; all the papers are from Cosmo Cricket Report Card. She was colored with a slew of Copics, then I used the colorless blender pen to dot all over her sweater to add some texture.

Head on over to the PMS blog to see what this week's Countdown to Christmas sale is; trust me when I say that you don't want to miss this one.

Sweet Betty

Seriously cute, I tell ya, those cheeks just make me happy. This cutie is available in the digi section of Pink Cat Studio.

I decided to put her in purple, it so becoming. The sentiment is part of the Apples Additions set available at Paper Makeup Stamps.

Once she was colored, I added some gold glitter pen highlights. And, you can see the white gel pen dots on her cheeks, super cute.

Head over to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to see all the wonderment of the Friends of PMS Blog Hop. I wasn't able to get a card done in time, but I know there will be some amazing eye candy.

Hope you each have a terrific weekend! I pick up my man from the airport on Sunday, thank goodness. I've missed him so.

Snowflakes for Henry

The Just Us Girls have teamed up with Katie at Paper Makeup Stamps to host a charity challenge using the image above. He is Henry the Snow Angel Fairy, named to honor the memory of Henry Anderson, son of fellow stamper Sarah Anderson. Katie is also donating the proceeds from the sale of the stamp to assist the family. You can read their story here.

I paired the image with some wonderful paper from Cosmo Cricket, I love the colors in these two sheets of paper. The snowflakes were die cut and then I used the airbrush to add another layer of color to them. I did something different and cut most of them with colored cardstock instead of using white.

I do hope you find it in your heart to help this family and purchase this stamp.

Pink Cat Studio also has a digi stamp that honors Henry.

Little Pippin

This cutie was a freebie from Digital Delights a few weeks ago; he's simply adorable.

I really like these colors together, although I wouldn't have put them together on my own. It all started with the Aqua Mist dp.

I am planning to enjoy this day off since I am all alone for the first time in forever; Cody is in school, Duke out of town for a funeral. I have much to keep me busy, however.

I'm going to try to complete the next article in my Copic series at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine. It's the final article that contains general information regarding storage, clean up, refilling, etc. Then, I will be going more in depth with the next series of articles.

Monkey Business

This super sweet image is a digi stamp created by Melissa at Pink Cat Studio to benefit the family of Sarah Anderson after the sudden loss of her son, Henry. You can read about it here.

My heart goes out to this family, I can't think about it without crying. How does life go on without your heart?

Once I decided on the size, I paired it with some of my favorite papers from October Afternoon.
I also dotted the cheeks and the ballooon with a white gel pen for a bit of extra detail.

Thanksgiving Bandit

This little fella is a digi image from Elizabeth O. Dulemba, it is found here. He looks like he just finished din din.

The sentiment is from C.C. Designs, AmyR Autumn Sentiments. He was colored with varying shades of Cool Gray Copics, then I swiped the Colorless Blender over the image to give his fur a little texture.

Snow Very Happy

This is for the Color Challenge, CC244 and Sketch Challenge, SC254 at SCS this past week.

I used Snow Happy, a most favorite set from Paper Makeup Stamps. I love these colors together, so pretty. Almost makes the snowman look more primitive. I stamped him on Rustic Cream cardstock, found at Paper Trey Ink. I will definitely be using this combo again soon.

For a Dear Friend

I made this card for Color Throwdown 68. The best part was that I already had the image colored, it was just a matter of making a card. What luck!

I then played Taylor's sketch challenge, TESC90. The image is from The Angel Company, Dear Friend. I love the bright cheerful colors, especially after all the rain we've been getting.

Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday.

Snowflake Mojo

This was my take on Mojo111, a fun one. Sketch challenges truly are my favorite.

I used Snow Happy, a set chock full of great sentiments, snowflakes, and two fabulous snowmen. I am a sucker for snowmen too, nothing wrong with that.

I pulled out the airbrush for the snowflake dies and for the image panel. I let colors found in the Cosmo Cricket paper determine the colors for the snowflake.

I am slowly getting a few Christmas cards made, although I don't intend to send many out, there are those that expect them. Can't disappoint, so, you'll see some from time to time.

More Betty

She is just cute as all get out.
I am still stuck on this color combo, sorry for the repeat. I adore the large scallop punch from EK Success, and love even more the fact that it stores flat.

Our driveway and roadway was flooded yesterday, and I had to miss 1/2 a day of work and Cody had to miss a whole day of school. But, we were finally about to get out in the early afternoon. But, it hadn't stopped raining long, here's hoping I can get to work today.
