A Blast From the Past

I had to dig deep for this photo, nearly 2 years old. These chip clips are some I found (and can still find) at the Dollar Tree. They have a tiny place to stamp a little sumpin' or put some pretty dp. The original premise was for a picture, but stamping is way more fun. Don't ya just love inexpensive stuff like this that looks like you spent way more than you did?! I have tons of these things, maybe I'll get a few out and play.

Gonna try to get some stamping done and finish a good portion of my article today. With all the snow they are expecting, I won't have much else to do.

Celebrate You

This is an oldie but a goodie. Made this in August, but don't believe I ever shared it on my blog. If I have, please forgive me; I haven't had any time to create something new.

I used Birthday Candles from Queen Kat Designs and some fun colors for a near one layer card. Loving all the white space.

Did you see this post? There are some fun and wonderful things planned for PMS' Birthday.

I'm hoping to get a post up this weekend about stamps and other stuff I have for sale. I'll post 'em here for a few days before moving them to Ebay. Gotta clear some of this stuff out.

Birthday Cheer

I used this super fun sentiment and quote from Birthday Cheer to create a card for my stash. You can never have too many birthday cards, IMO.

I found this Sassafrass Lass paper my LSS Clearance Center; it has some fun colors. I started with a vision of making this a masculine card and then added the bling and scallops. Don't know what happened, but I suppose it all worked out. A little piercing in the corners finishes it all off.

Going forward, I will only be able to post during the week. It takes alot of time to do my DT work, magazine work, my IRL job, and just being a mom; the amount of time spent being crafty is causing distress. It's so hard to find a balance that works for everyone, and unfortunately, my DH is not supportive of my crafty endeavors in the least. I am hoping to get some of the "required" crafty stuff done on my weekday off and take the weekends with my family.

Cookies!

I participated in this week's Makeup for the Weekend challenge, M4TW13. Amber drew up a fun sketch for us.

I used this super adorable Cookie Man stamp; isn't he sweet? I tried to emulate Katie's coloring (high contrast) and must say that I failed miserably! Holy smokes, what a disaster! It looks horrendous!! I definitely need more practice.

The label shape was another one I got from this blog. I love that they can be resized and perfectly nested together with just a few clicks.

You still have time to play with us. Just use the keyword M4TW13 when you upload to any public gallery or your blog; then link it to the PMS blog so we can take a peekie.

Learn to Love SSS40

I made this for this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop, SSS40. And, for as simple as it was, I struggled to get it completed.

I used this great quote from Paper Makeup Stamps and was thrilled to add another V-Day card to the stash.

The label shape was cut from my Cricut, I got the file from this blog. She has such great files and many of them emulate some of the popular shapes without all the great expense.

Great Things

I cased a card from Dawn McVey, it was super simple but really packed a punch.

I don't care for the button sets from Paper Trey Ink, I am just not a button person. But, this butterfly was perfect for this layout. Of course, this is from All A Flutter by My Time Made Easy, as well as All A Flutter Sentiments.

Cherry Begonia

I had to pick up a small gift for Duke's sister, who so graciously watched Cody after school for a few days. I picked up this cute bottle of bath gel as well as a tube of bath salts with the most delightful colors. It's a very close match to Hibiscus Burst.

I used a Pretty Packaging Template from My Time Made Easy. This one is called In a Pinch and it was a perfect fit for the stuff I picked up.

I also used the cut file Flutters and Flowers to make the daisy accents as well as using the cut out to airbrush directly onto the template. Then, it was a matter of randomly stamping a daisy and some polka dots, from Paper Trey Ink, onto the template before adhering it together.

Here is a close up of the daisy on top. It's pretty big, but since the items inside are named Cherry Begonia, I thought a large flower was ingenious. I cut the flowers from white cardstock and then airbrushed them with copic markers.

Lastly, a length of ribbon was tied around the neck of the box. Let's hope she loves it!

Baby Girl

I made this card for someone at work that needed a baby girl card. I used SEI papers and this cutie patootie image from Pink Cat Studio. The wide ribbon is so pretty, it was a cinch to tie and adds a little bit of softness.

I have today off, which makes for a three day weekend. So, I am planning on getting all my housework done so I can have some fun stamping and with the boy. We'll see how much I get accomplished.

A Rose is a Rose

This little sweetheart is Rose, she was released just a few days ago. I love her ruffled, layered dress! I, again, used papers from Cosmo Cricket Early Bird. Love the soft, springy blue, a perfect match for Aqua Mist.

Here is the image of Moody for Love that Cody colored. Awesome, right?! Oh and he's 8.

Moody Love

I had to use Moody for Love one more time, I adore her! This time I added a little shine to each heart with a glaze pen.

Cody colored one of these images the other night and the result was outstanding, I'll post it as soon as I can get a pic of it.

Nothing in the World

This is for the sketch at The Sweet Stop this week; it's actually a sketch with a spin- to use a sentiment only. Paper Makeup has a ton of word art stamps, so it was a no brainer. This quote was perfect for the sketch's sentiment panel, and since it's quote about love, I was able to add another Valentine's Day card to my stash.

Baylee Fairy

This sweet little fairy was made to benefit the family of Baylee Tadlock, who sadly passed earlier this month. Baylee's story is amazing!

This text taken from the PMS blog:

It's not a new thing to mention that Charity is an important aspect of life to me. Honestly, I think that if you receive good fortune in life, it is out of respect to God who gave you that fortune to help others who might need help. There are so many ways to provide an act of charity to help someone. Often times, financial assistance can help someone get thru a hard time because it's one part they wont need to worry about as much.

This is where Paper Makeup Stamps has often stepped in doing charity stamps. When you purchase a charity stamp or image, all proceeds from the sale all go directly to the designated charity.

Recently, Paper Makeup Stamps was contacted by 2 friends (Carole Chesser and Ashley Newell) about a sweet girl named Baylee Tadlock. At the age of 9 months, Baylee was diagnosed with Leigh's Syndrome. Leigh's Syndrome is a metabolic-mitochondrial disease. The family was told to expect Baylee's life to be only of about 2 years. That she would never walk, talk, sit up or even crawl. But Baylee was a fighter and a lover of life! She loved to ride horses! She loved Disney and princess Ariel. Baylee recently went to be with our Lord on January 9th at the age of 13. You can read all about Baylee, her too short life, and her family's amazing faith at http://www.adreamforbaylee.com/.

One of our illustrators, Diem Pascarella drew this wonderful image. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to the Tadlock family. They have set up a scholarship fund in Baylee's name with http://projectride.org/. Project Ride is a program giving therapeutic recreational horseback riding instruction to children and adults with special needs. PMS is designating the funds for the Tadlock's to use as they need.

We thank you for your support in helping us to help remember sweet Baylee Rose.

Love You

I am loving the colors and patterns in the Cosmo Cricket papers, these are from the Early Bird collection. Here is Isabella again, she's just the sweetest; the sentiment is from Hugs & Kisses. After coloring her, I cut her out with Labels 8 Nesties.

I have been trying to jot down sketches while mindlessly watching television. I love sketches! However, I have had a hard time coming up with my own; especially when I sit down to make a card. So, this is my attempt at being more original.

Butterfly Valentine

This is the last of these ensembles, at least for a while. Well, using this paper anyway. *wink*

The dp is from SEI, cardstock from SU and Neenah. The image is a digi from Pink Cat Studio; I think Itty Bitty Betty is about the cutest thing evah!

I went with a super simple layout, lots of white space. The background panel was embossed using an embossing folder, a fun one with flowers. I cut the butterflies with my Cricut; I was able to adjust each size accordingly with the SCAL software. Love it! Then, I just placed a flat back pearl in the center of each butterfly.

All of these sets should have found their way to their recipients. Thankfully, I thought ahead and these goodies will arrive in plenty of time for Valentine's Day! Enjoy girls!!

Everything Old is New Again Challenge

This is my second post today, go me! Here is my Makeup 4 the Weekend post.

About a week ago, Sue posted a card with a long forgotten stamp set. Allison commented that we should have a challenge where we created a card with a long forgotten stamp/ stamp set that we would first have to blow the dust of off due to lack of use. Sue jumped on the suggestion and now, with the help of some other PSF's, we are hosting the "Everything Old is New Again" challenge.

I used this House Mouse image, I believe I bought it when I first started stamping a few years ago. Sadly, he has never been used; these little buggers intimidate me. I chose him because of that and because he is appropriate for the current season.

I decided to go even further and used dp's that are older as well; some BG and SU. This was a fun challenge; it was amusing to go through my "old" stuff and reminisce. There are some treasures buried in the miscellaneous bin! LOL

Want to join us? (Of course you do!!)

All you have to do is create a card with a stamp set that hasn't seen the light of day in some time. Then link it up at Allison's blog by Friday, January 22nd at midnight (MDT) and you will be entered to win a $25 gift card to Michael's (Thanks Sue!!). If you are looking for some inspiration, have a quick turn through these creations offered up by these great gals:

Birthday M4TW12

Today's Makeup for the Weekend challenge is brought to you by ME! My birthday is in a few days so I decided to challenge you to make a birthday card.

I used Birthday Lauren, she's a cutie! The sentiment is from the newly released Birthday Cheer set, loving the font on this one. The papers are from K & Company designed by Carolyn Gavin, it's super funky. I cut the faux Modern Label with my Cricut, I totally love that I can make it whatever size I want. A few rhinestones finishes the whole thing off.

I would love it if you found the time to participate. You don't have to use Paper Makeup Stamps, but if you got 'em, we'd love to see 'em! If you upload to any public gallery, please use the keyword M4TW12 so we can find it easily. Then, link it up to the PMS blog so we can comment on it, we love to do that!

PMS January Blog Hop

You should have found your way here from Christi Snow's blog. All along the way, you will find letters to a code that will give you a 15% discount on all new releases; so, you will want to start from the beginning, you can do that here.

This precious little fairy is Isabella; she's blowing a kiss. The fairies just get better and better, don't they? I love that billowing dress, so fun to color. And, of course, her wings have been colored and stickled.

The sentiment is from Birthday Wishes, stamped in Rose Red on a bracket shaped panel I cut with my Cricut. It is accented with a few rhinestones for an added touch of something special.

The letter that I have for you is:
Now, you'll need to hop on over to see Danni.

Don't forget that the party starts at 8:00 CST in the Paper Makeup Forum. It's always a good time, you don't want to miss it.

PMS January Sneak Peeks, Day 3

Today's peeks are all word art related to love and romance, ah romance!

I used Mercy's sketch from January 5th for my card, MTSC55. I also used some fun Valentine's Day paper, with great colors like Pixie Pink and Real Red. The right half of the first layer was embossed using a heart folder, super cute.

The quote was die cut with nesties and then matted with a felt scalloped circle for a little bit of texture and softness.

The treat bag was cut with my Cricut, perfectly sized for a few Lindor Truffles. They are soooo good; I even had to hide them from DH until I could photograph them.

Be sure to head over to the PMS blog to see what the other Makeup Artists did, you won't be disappointed. Tomorrow is Release Day and that means we have a blog hop. Our Release Party will be in the Paper Makeup Forum; the fun begins at 8:00 CST.

PMS January Sneak Peek, Day 2

Here we are on day two of our sneak peeks. Today is all about birthdays!

Meet Bobo, a cute little clown getting ready to be whisked away by some balloons. I paired him with some papers from American Crafts that I thought would look great with him. Primary colors and clowns go hand in hand.

The sentiment is from a set called Birthday Cheer. Lots of fun sentiments as well as different styles of the Happy Birthday greeting.

You'll need to head on over to the PMS blog to see everything in the set as well as some more fairies. Lots of good stuff today!

PMS January Sneak Peeks, Day 1

Today is a Day of Love at Paper Makeup Stamps! All the cards and projects we have to show you are dedicated to love and romance, perfect for all those Valentine's Day cards. They'll even work for other days that you celebrate love like anniversaries, weddings, engagements, etc.

I have Moody for Love, I must say that she has stolen my heart and is my favorite Moody Girl evah! I love hearts and this image is full of them. And, I don't have to tell you how much fun she is to color, I mean, look at her!

I paired her up with a slew of American Crafts paper, love all those fun colors. Told you I was all about the brights now!

The sentiment panel is from another set being released this month, Hugs and Kisses. It has some sentiments and some hearts. Here the heart was stamped over the "xoxo" and I then just punched it out and matted it.

Be sure to stop by the PMS blog to see what the other Makeup Artists have done with their images. We have some new DT members and this is their first release with us, show them some love!

The Boy and His Dog

Here he is with Cupcake. It thrills him to no end to torment her; but, she tolerates him in most cases.

All A Flutter

I was so excited to finally be able to make this cute little box, it's called All A Flutter from My Time Made Easy. I added a handle, just a strip of cardstock and dp.

I made this one at 80% of its actual size since I knew I had only a few candies to put in it. It's still large enough, however, for loads of stuff.

The cardstock is from Prism, it's great cardstock but certainly not sturdy enough for the weight of the chocolates I placed inside. Based on the gift, I'll be sure to determine which kind of cardstock to use in the future.

All in all, this not only makes for unique presentation, but it was a snap to put together. I totally love that you can customize this to match your gift; you can even use some of the elements for a matching card or tag. Lastly, you are all but guaranteed to be asked where you bought it. I love the reaction I get when I tell people I made it myself, priceless!

Tomorrow starts the January peeks for Paper Makeup Stamps. It is an amazing release!!

For All You Do

This is another little gift ensemble, something special for a friend for Valentine's Day.

The dp is from SEI, with the cardstock from SU and Neenah. The background panel was embossed using a QK embossing folder. The sentiment panel and mat were cut using my Cricut, isn't that a fun shape?!

The sentiment is from Everyday Thanks, it was stamped in Regal Rose. The pillow box was cut using SU Pillow Box die, super easy.

I have one more of these ensembles to show you, at least using the same papers. Hopefully, I haven't bored you to pieces with it already.

Well, better get this in the mail!
