Grateful For You

I just loved Mercy's sketch from last week, MTSC101; rhe layers often draw me in. And the challenge at MFT was to create something to show thankfulness, MFTWSC11242010. I used the
Framed Greetings Stamp and Die Set, this sentiment just spoke to me.

The papers are October Afternoon, I just love their papers. And, I accented the strips with glitter brads.

Tags, Tags, Tags

The Wednesday Challenge at All That Scraps was to make a tag; I am an overachiever and made 2! LOL I love coloring these super cute pumpkins and was happy to ink them up for the challenge. One of them was used to give Duke's sister her hostess gift, a pie plate with the recipe for Pumpkin Pie...so fitting, don't you think?!

The tags were die cut and then decorated minimally, just so the pumpkin image could take center stage.

It's Friday! And, that means another Makeup for the Weekend challenge. The fabulous Lisa K is our hostess this week and has challenged us to make a card/ project with a shopping theme in honor of Black Friday.

I made a bag favor I will use to present a small giftie to someone this holiday season. I am certain my niece with love the pinks and glitter.

I used some snowflakes from Snow Happy to decorate the bag, raspberry and vanilla inks really make it pop!

Here is the close up of the snowflakes just drenched in glitter; I accented them with a button and then attached them to my tag. The sentiment is from Little Moments.

We would love for you to play along with us. All you have to do is create a shopping themed card or project. You don't have to use Paper Makeup Stamps to participate, but we love seein' 'em! Just use the keyword M4TW51 when you upload to your blog and/ or public gallery and then link directly to your creation on the PMS blog so we can take a look.

Branching Out

Happy Thanksgiving! I am looking forward to the feast we will be having later today, one that I don't have to cook...so double yay! We have much to be thankful for this year, most of all the fact that we'll be celebrating with our families. I sincerely hope each of you has a wonderful day!

Using Taylor's sketch this week, TESC134 and Stacy's Curtain Call: Act 57, I created this card. I used a much neglected stamp set, Branch Out and just spotlighted a small cluster of snowflakes.

One of the panels was accented with paper piercing and then I placed some frosted gems around the image panel. The papers are a mix-up of Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon, so glad they are easy to interchange.

Butterfly Clippie

I found a set of these clips at Wal-Mart around back to school time. I know I have more than just this one, but so far, it's the only one to be found. LOL I believe I got green, fuschia, aqua, and royal blue...I'll be on a mission to find them!

I used Danni's Flutterbies, colored to match the clip, then added some stickles for sparkle! The image was punched out and mounted on more punches.

The side view, so you can see that it's just a small, chunky, plastic clothes pin. There's a magnet on back, this is supposed to go into a locker to hold stuff. Well, I'll be putting it on my fridge!

Verve Project Parade

I am officially participating in the Verve Project Parade. The theme this month is "Triple Play". The idea is to make three projects that coordinate with each other.

I made three treat containers, I need several of these to hold small gifts for Christmas. So, the hardest part was choosing a color scheme. LOL As you can see, I went with kraft, red, avocado, and white.

First, I made this basket/ box from PTI's Favor It 2 die. It was decorated with Leaves and the smallest set of leaves from Forever in our Hearts in avocado and white. I added some red flatback rhinestones to each green leaf frond. The ribbon has been tied around and knotted at the top.

I decorated the pillow box in the same fashion as the Favor It 2 box; just adding the ribbon around the belly.

Finally, I chose a mini milk carton. The tags are Fillable Frames 9; stamped with the same Leaves stamp in avocado. This time it was isolated to the bottom right. The sentiment is from Great Friend.

I added some Martha Stewart glitter to the snowflake die, then accented them each with a button tied with maraschino twine.

A Christmas Cracker

Playing along with the Embellish Color Challenge this week prompted me to make this adorable Christmas Cracker for my SIL. We're going to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast at her home and I like to give her something special for being the hostess. It's not an easy job!

The papers were stamped with various stamps from PTI: Turning a New Leaf, A Wreath for all Seasons, and their 2nd Anniversary set.

The template is from Leigh Ann Baird, appropriately called Easy Candy Wrap. I just cut it with my Cricut and then layered on the image panel after flanking it with a chocolate scalloped border.

The inside contains 4 apple and cinnamon tea lights, so it's plenty roomy.

Uplifting Best Wishes SFYTT

Using this week's SFYTT, I pulled out some older PTI sets to use.

The hot air ballon and cloud is from Up, Up, and Away; I also used the matching dies. The sentiment is from the latest Anniversary set, and the flourish is from Fancy Flourishes.

I'm not sure you can tell, but the cloud is cut from felt that I got here; the shiny silver pearls are from here. I totally {heart} those pearls.

The papers are mixed, one pattern from Cosmo Cricket and the others from October Afternoon. The rose cardstock was cut using the Small Scallop border from MFT.

A Bookmark For Me

At the rate I am reading books, I thought it wise to make a bookmark for myself. This one uses papers left out on my table; see all that MME goodness?! The teacup was die cut and then stamped with Tea For Two Additions in a lovely green color to match the Simply Chartreuse cardstock. (Anessa, I was channeling you with these colors!) I just pop dotted it onto the scallop circle punches. The pink sorbet twine finishes this baby off.

The book you see is the last book in the Sookie Stackhouse series; my friend, Tricia, is letting me borrow hers. By the time you read this post, I will probably be done with it. LOL Now, gotta finish the Harry Potter series, I only have the first book right now. Need to pick more of those up as well. I am hoping to tote my boy to the movie theater on Saturday afternoon to see the newest movie, looks really exciting.

Once Cody saw this one, he was hankering for a few for himself. He's quite the reader!

Nap Time

This adorable Pure Innocence girl hopped into my cart earlier this month, along with the Rolled Rose Die-Namics.

Still stuck on using these papers from MME, so pretty. I have one more small project with them tomorrow. Do you ever just love the paper so much, you can't put it down? That's where I am at.....

Anyway, she's colored with Copics onto X-Press It paper; the jammies' buttons were accented with baby pink gems. I used the Small Scallop Border Die-Namics for the pink strips along the top and bottom. Some ribbon was in order as well.

The roses were cut from the same papers, then adhered to the bottom of the card with liquid glue. Finally, a library clip was added for a little something on that side of the card.

Gingy, SSS82

Christmas Cheer is quickly becoming a favorite holiday set. I just love this image of Gingy...it's priceless. I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop, SSS82, for the layout. I paired it with some non-traditional colors for the season.

Cody and I enjoyed ourselves at the Titanic celebration on Friday. It was a blast! There was snow, there were fireworks! You get assigned a passenger before you enter the Museum and at the end, you get to find out their fate. Depending on who you get, you might find something belonging to them displayed throughout the Museum. Both my passenger and Cody's didn't make it off the boat alive. There are so many interesting artifacts, paperwork, instruments displayed; and the staff is really great about making it an experience for each visitor. I can't wait to go back, sans Cody, so that I can stop and read/ look at everything. While Cody was interested somewhat, nothing held his attention that long....well, except for the Gift Shop. LOL

Gift Tags Galore

I am busy preparing for the Christmas holidays, trying to decide who gets what this year. It'll be a mostly homemade holiday for us. I enjoy giving homemade gifts, for obvious reasons. These are the tags that will be accompanying my packages this year; I just hope I find wrapping paper to match. LOL

Of course, Dawn McVey was the inspiration for these tags. Mine aren't nearly as pretty as hers, but I had loads of fun making them. I also tried to stick with a similar color scheme- red, cream, green with a little kraft thrown in.

I ended up making 16 of these since I could die cut 8 from one sheet of cardstock. I'm making more to give to my cousin, Sonya. I am hoping to visit her next week! They are relatively easy, it's just alot of die cutting...thank goodness for machines that do the hard work for you. I just stamp and glue. LOL

The papers were ripped from a book, it nearly broke my heart to do it. Then, I just layered on some label dies after they were stamped with snowflakes from Snow Happy. I used a sentiment from the set as well as a few others, one of which you can get FREE just by placing an order (Season's Greetings).

All the gems are from Pizzazz Aplenty. Super fun and oh so sparkly! I used an assortment of colors and sizes for these tags.

Winter Wishes MTSC99

I pulled out my neglected Snow Happy set to play along with Mercy's fun sketch this week, MTSC99.

The snowman was stamped onto Xpress It paper, loving this stuff, and then colored with copics. I dabbed a glue pen along the bottom of the image and sprinkled some glitter on it to represent a sparkly snow drift.

The snowflakes were accented with a peridot gem from Pizzazz aplenty. Have you been to her store yet? Oh my word, The gems and pearls are fantastic, I have really been enjoying using them! Plus, she's got great prices.

Surprise Blog Hop for Ginger

Ginger and her family will be welcoming a son via adoption very soon. We all wanted to show our support for her by having a virtual baby shower.

If you started at the PMS blog, you should have arrived here from Andrea's blog. If not, you can click here to see everything from the beginning.

Ginger decorated the nursery with lots of circles, so I followed that lead. I found an older Mojo Monday sketch, MOJO116, that was perfect. Be sure you check out her nursery, AMAZING!

The sentiment wraps up parenthood in a single sentence, no truer statement has been spoken. I can't remember what my life was like before my son entered it. Congratulations Ginger! I am so happy and excited for you!

Now, go check out what Anita has for Ginger!

PMS November Review

Today, we're reveiwing some of the stamps released earlier this month. I have Claire Fairy, so sweetly and softly paired with some Cosmo Cricket paper. The image was colored to match the paper, some stickles added to her wings for a touch of sparkle and whimsy. The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch and the big bow was tied with Bow Easy.

Anyone else looking forward to the weekend? Cody and I are going to an event at the Titanic Museum tomorrow night; they are previewing their Christmas decorations and there is supposed to be real snow as well. We haven't had the chance to visit the museum since it opened, so we're pretty excited. Of course, he's got a sore throat and is running a fever right now....

The rest of the weekend might find me baking or at least making my list for supplies/ ingredients to do so. I have the week of Thanksgiving off and I want to make some good use of my time. Getting breads and cookies in the freezer, preparing place settings for our Thanksgiving table, etc. Plus, my favorite little helper will be on his break from school during that time too! We're doing mostly handmade for this holiday, gifts, decorations, etc.

Mrs. Claus' Closet

I had to ink up this super wonderful and oh so sexy corset from the Oo La La for Santa set; it was released just a few days ago.

I added stickles to the fluff at the bottom, a glitter pen accented the buckle, and I added some gems to the cups. It is all blinged out! Love it in these classic colors. The gems are from Pizzazzaplenty, a wonderful store with exceptional service. They have all sorts of fun embellies.

Christmas Ornaments

The Christmas Cheer set is so fun and I am trying my best to use every image it contains. These fun ornaments were calling out to be used next. Once they were colored I added some Crystal Effects for super shine.

The papers are Cosmo Cricket, so glad I was able to use them again this year. Of course, I have been sending very few Christmas cards over the past few years, so packs of seasonal papers last a while.

The punch on the image panel is from Martha Stewart, I thought it was perfect as a tree branch. I just added some twinkle gems to mimic glowing twinkle lights.

We won't be putting up a tree this year, too much furniture in the living room. So, Cody and I are on the look out for a small tree as well as some other decorations for the TV Entertainment Center as well as the coffee table. I also have plans to make a Christmas Countdown Calendar with the Mini Milk Carton die; it's inspired by one of the same in the SU catalog, only they used takeout boxes. I'm just deciding where to hang them, the boy has to be able to reach them after all. Perhaps this would be a good time to pull out my shopping carts.

Apple Notes

I made this for MFT's Guest Designer contest, the theme was office supplies. The notepad cover was decorated with October Afternoon papers, some of my faves. The red strip was die cut with the Perfect Bracket Edge Die-Namics, I then stamped "NOTES" using the Wendy Alphabet.

The apple is part of the Apples to Apples set from Paper Makeup Stamps. It was colored and then cut out. Once it was adhered to the scalloped circle panel, I added some crystal effects and dazzling diamonds. Lastly, I used a library clip accented with ribbon. The RSVP pen was embellished with matching paper and ribbon.

I did find out that I won a MFT set by commenting on Cindy Haffner's blog. I am so excited! So, it kinda took a little of the sting out of not being chosen as the Guest DT for December. LOL There's always next month, right?!

PMS November Release Blog Hop

It's Release Day and tonight you'll be able to get all the stamps we've previewed over the last few days. Have any favorites?

As always, we celebrate each release with a blog hop. If you've come here from my friend Tangii's blog, you are on the right track. If not, you need to start at the PMS blog so you can see everything from the beginning and get letters, in order, to complete a code that allows you to save 15% on all new releases.

I get to show off Moody for Presents. As always, they are so pretty with lots of fun details. I paired the image with some fun and colorful papers from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly. Can you see the puffy paint on her hat?

I also made a little treat container to hold just a few nuggets that I covered with more of the patterned paper. Always a fun thing to do. The sentiment is this month's freebie, meaning you get it FREE with your order; at least until supplies last.

The letter I have for you is:

Now, you need to hop over to see Andrea, she has something magnificent to share.

Join us for the Release Party tonight. The fun starts at 9:00 pm EST in the Paper Makeup Stamps Forum.

PMS November Sneak Peeks, Day 4

We are already on day 4 of the Sneak Peeks for November! Today, it's all about Christmas Cheer; that's the name of this new set illustrated by Shaela Odd.

I was given the pleasure of using this cup, my love of all things coffee has grown considerably this year. I dare say I am close to becoming an addict; mostly I am addicted to the flavored creamers. LOL

The cup was colored to match my Cosmo Cricket papers and then I followed an SFYTT sketch from a week or so ago.

Make sure you head on over to the PMS blog to see what the other Makeup Artists did with this set. They'll knock your socks off.

The Release Party is tomorrow night at 9:00 pm EST in the Paper Makeup Stamps Forum. We always have a great time.

Fall Photos

I don't have anything crafty to share today. So, I thought it was a good opportunity to show you some of the wonder and beauty that is fall in East Tennessee.

This is a photo of the beginning of the climb to my house.

This is the bottom of the road that I live on, coming into the community.

A creek that runs along the side of the road.

Just a shot of the drive to my house.

Up through some trees.

On one of the side roads I drive.

Another shot along the same road.

Another creek at the end of the road.

This is from the opposite side.

There you have it, some glorious beauty from East Tennessee.
