Think Love

I managed to play in the Featured Stamper challenge at SCS yesterday, FS308, what a fun gallery to peruse. The featured stamper uses lots of techniques and I am not a techniques person, so I chose an easy card to case. I really loved the partial embossing and all that kraft paper.

I used a polka dot embossing folder and then inked it to make it stand out- just like Cook22. I used various stamps from the Love Letters set from The Cat's Pajamas. The postmark cancellation was stamped with watermark ink and sprinkled with glitter 'cause no Valentine's Day card is complete without it.

Happy Birthday to You

My niece celebrated a birthday recently and I needed to make a box to hold the necklace I am giving her. I LOVE hearts and this necklace is so pretty.

I also chose to participate in the SCS Inspiration Challenge IC369; I chose these boxes as my inspiration. The necklace box was purchased from the Silhouette Store and was resized smaller than the original.

Here is a look at the inside of the pocket card, I used several  papers from Echo Park's Love Story pad....swoon! The pocket card was also purchased at the Silhouette Store and was also resized to my needs.

The sentiment on the insert is Verve's Brighter Days which is a recent purchase thanks to the generosity of my good friend Tangii Crain. The sentiment was embossed with black embossing powder and looks so special.

I tied the outside of the pocket with a big pink bow, Verve's Birthday to You PJ was also embossed, but this time in white. And, I fastened the insert with a lovely pink pearl. And, you can see how the box looks closed. Here's hoping she likes it!

Happy Birthday Jim

My step-father, AKA Dad, celebrated a birthday on Saturday. This is the card I made for him using Stampin' Up stamps and other supplies. The edge was die cut, embossed and pierced with the Adorning Accents family of accessories.

The trees were clear embossed and then I sprinkled a little glitter on them; the sentiment was also embossed and then punched out. I added some brads to the each end of the sentiment and used glue dots to adhere it to the ribbon strip.

Tic Tac Christmas

I needed a small treat to give out to the kids after Christmas dinner; we don't gift to everyone any longer as there are way too many of us these days. However, these little things are not only affordable, but always very well received.

The snowflake is from Paper Smooches Chilly Chums and each was embossed; the green panels with white embossing powder and the white panels with clear. I designed the holder in Silhouette Studio and wanted the opening to resemble an ornament. The ornament parts were purchased in the Silhouette Store.

All I did was add some ribbon to tied them closed and adhere the candy containers with a glue dot.

Love is the Thread

It's Thursday and that means we have a sketch from My Time Made Easy today. We're reviewing sketches 48-54 this week, I chose to use sketch 54 as it has a large open panel that holds many possibilities.

I used stamps from Grammy's Sewing Kit, utilizing the transparency feature in Silhouette Studio to fade the flower cluster so that the sentiment stands out. I also used some black embossing powder on the word love to make it stand out a little more, even leaving some of the black specks of powder visible.

This will be my last post as a member of the sketch team and I'll miss it. Life has gotten busy for me and it's harder and harder to fit fun stuff in. Just for You Slider

 I needed a money holder for Cody's BIG gift this year and this money holder card fit the bill perfectly. I just grabbed some pretty winter paper from Echo Park since I wanted to use blues. I tied a ribbon bow at the top of the pull out that will hold the bill.

Next up, I used a pop up slider from Bird's Cards as an extra interactive feature on this gift. The sentiments and snowflakes are from Verve's Glad Tidings.

Wedding Congrats

My step-son and his long time lady love tied the knot on 12-12-12! We're so happy for them!

I used this cute wedding couple file from the Silhouette Store as the focal point. I stamped the large flourish with watermark ink and clear embossed it.

The hearts are from Lots of Love, a recent purchase from Avery Elle. I added a strip of dp and then tied it up with a bow. The tag sentiment is from Verve's Dude, it was tied on with some lovely red twine.

Cafe Lizzie

Yay, another Christmas card down. This one is certainly non-traditional with the image (Whimsie Doodles), but it's perfect for a coffee drinking friend or family member. I'm working on coloring hair better, I still have work to do!

I just kept layering on pretty paper from Doodlebug and added that gorgeous organza ribbon to finish it off!

Tea Bag Pockets

I am going to gift the gals at work these tea bag pockets in addition to a homemade bread item (maybe). The  pocket was cut to size for the tea bag, it's originally for a chocolate. I used some Echo Park paper for the pocket itself and then some matching green cardstock for the front.

The doily was cut using some thinner kraft cardstock, love it for layering. The snowflake was cut out of felt with a die from The Cat's Pajamas, I adore it so much. It was a labor of love getting all the little pieces of felt picked out however.

The tags are a print & cut file, just a tiny glue dot holds them to the front of the snowflake.

Holiday Cheer

I need to get a few more Christmas cards made and decided to go pretty simple with this one. I had already colored the image a few weeks ago, just had to cut out the to go cup and put it on a dimensional booster.

The Paper Smooches snowman was glittered up with some prisma glitter for some sparkle and shimmer. His heart as well as that on his cup were coated with glossy accents. I managed to use 4 different sets from Paper Smooches for this card!

I was lucky to find a lovely purple ribbon to match the card; I tied the loopy bow and secured it with a glue dot.

Frosted Vinyl Candle Holder

I used up most of the white vinyl I had on the plates I showed earlier in the week. I found this hurricane vase in the closet where I keep alterables (and lots of other stuff) and decided to make something for my brother's new place.

I grabbed the roll of frosted vinyl and set out to make a cute window; think this will look fabulous when it's lit.

Fabulous Birthday

Here we are at another Thursday! It's time for another sketch challenge from the My Time Made Easy team.    This week we're choosing a sketch from the past and making a new card with it; I chose MTMEPPS41. I needed something quick and simple, and I needed a birthday card for a friend.

I already made the gift package, you can see it here. I used the same paper choices in the Spring is Here paper pack; I wanted to use fresh and bright papers.

The sentiment is from Sentimentally Yours, I love these style of sentiments these days, they're so beautiful! I colored parts of it to match my papers as well, don't you love when you can do that with so little effort?

Joy

Got another Christmas card done over the weekend, woot!  I grabbed stamps from Paper Smooches Warm Hearts and Geo-Graphic; the polka dots on the circular panel were embossed with white embossing powder.

The sentiment was coated with glossy accents. I made some banner strips using paper from Echo Park's This & That Christmas. I used lots of dimensional adhesive on this one.

I Celebrate You: Year in Review

Today the entire My Time Made Easy design team will be sharing samples using older products.

I chose Lil Cupcake because I hadn't used it and I had some yummy gum to package for my great-niece on Sunday.

This template was sized to 65% since I didn't need a full-sized box.  I used some textured rose cardstock for the base and then stamped a flourish from Fanciful Flourishes in matching ink; the sentiment from Just for You was added and embellished with some gems.

Chair-ish Your Birthday!

The My Time Made Easy release is over, but we're still cranking out projects to inspire you!

I am using the Chair-ish You template today with some older papers to hold a Pandora bead for a friend of mine. She and I are "bracelet buddies"; and I was thrilled to be able to find this cute bead at a bargain.

I used the Print & Cut feature in Silhouette Studio to add the scroll at the top of the chair (Apothecary Labels) as well as the sentiment (Sentimentally Yours); both were colored in PSE9 to match the papers.

I scaled the chair at 75% since I didn't need a large box. I used 2 different papers from Spring is Here for the box; making it double-sided.

I just cut a small square from black cardstock and used the CAD to punch some holes to thread the hemp cord through that will hold the bead in place.

Once the box was closed, I tied a great big bow using some gorgeous organza ribbon. I left enough of the length that she can untie it, retrieve the gift, and tie it back with no problem.

December Release: Let's Celebrate!

Yippee! It's release day for My Time Made Easy! Not only does it mean that the entire Design Team has something to share, but it also means that all the templates, stamps, papers, and cut files you've been seeing for the last few days are available for purchase NOW!

Today, I am showing you what I did with the Wine & Dine template. I know many people give gifts of wine not only at Christmas, but throughout the year as well.  Now, you have a wonderful way to dress it up and make it more special for the recipient.

The snowflakes on the top of the Wine & Dine box are from the It's Snowing cut file; they are just supersized! Once they were assembled, I spray them with Mr. Huey Shine Spray. The jingle bells were threaded on hemp cord and attached to a button before being added to the snowflakes center.

I used new papers from Un-Wined; super cute designs in this pack. I used it to not only decorate the lid, but also to decorate the Over the Top cut file to place on the neck of the wine bottle. The label image is from the new Vintage Vineyard stamp set; just colored in PSE9 before opening in Silhouette Studio. I cut a tag using Un-Wined Labels cut file; once adhered to the Over the Top tag, I added a nice big bow!
